Honestly I think clint has just kinda gave up on his son. Letting his son slowly fall apart, becoming a drunk, poor dental hygiene and constant use of getting so much food he leaves it out at night and eats food that wouldn't pass food saftey because it stayed out too long. At this point it's just a count down until he gets put in a home.
