Grew up in military family and served myself for a while in combat units. Most of us don't see shit and the ones that do don't wanna talk about -- unless they are really fucking drunk. Godfather was in vietnam as grunt and he was the same way. You can usually tell if someone actually saw or did something based on how they talk about -- if they even do. It's not shit you wanna remember and most people won't understand it.

I don't think Walt did anything crazy or he would def not tell the regarded neighbor kid with autism
