Lolcow KingCobraJFS / Josh Saunders - Amateur musician, YouTube Streamer, wandmaker, and self-proclaimed "sexy goth badboy". Perpetually circling the drain.

Dude could probably do demolition work, smashing drywall and sweeping up debris. Temp labor agencies deal with bigger retards on the daily.

But like someone said upthread, he'd be fucking himself over. A job wouldn't pay his way and he'd be worse off than he is now.

No. Cobes is legally an adult.

This is just a thought but does Clint have any form of legal power / responsibility over Josh? I know his SSDI is paid to him not cobes but does that mean he has other control as well or the power to force him into a rehab etc? He's always been delayed and clints took him to psychiatrists in his youth because of his behaviour etc and it wouldn't shock me to find out Clints got some custodial roll legaly because of that.
I don't think so. I think clint and josh agreed for his dad to be his cash holder. it's totally different thing than being someone handler. he would have to go through a shit ton of court hearings and, at the end of the day, he would most likely just give up and send josh to a group home. it would be too much stress looking after that 'tard

He doesn't want to be sober.

True, he'd want to be Sober for him to accept and get help.

Even back when he was living with Clint he'd drink a while lot of energy drinks and started smoking as soon as the law allowed it.
Even during the Wendy's Era he consumed a lot of alcohol (he'd post his booze hauls on facebook).
The only thing keeping him from becoming an actual alcoholic was having a finite amount of cash and being regarded with money which meant he'd immediately ran out of money after getting his check.

I wonder if that's because he's got some void he's trying to fill, I'm not talking about being lonely here but some form of intellectual or existential void he doesnt really know he has that the Buzzed state lets him turn off.

He always was defiant and impulsive and has an addictive personality (see porn, spice, alcohol, caffeine), people like him usually end up in a perpetual loop of homelessness and imprisonment, especially with his very limited intelligence.

That's a sad truth.

Damn, sorry I was listening to something and the subject of adult custody came up and set me to thinking about clints legal status.

He could push for a conservatorship / guardianship. They are same type thing Britney Spears had when lost her mind and had a break. Family or PoA types have to prove the person is pretty much incapable and in crisis.

Clint could but it basically is declaring Josh incompetent and taking over. Since he controls the cash SSI, he might have some legal status. Hell, I bet even files his taxes.

I’m betting he has PoA

it would take a lot of time. the court system really doesn't like to give people power over someone unless they're I.D. It would be a year or so until clint get custody (even if he would be able to get it). also, why would clint even want it? josh won't listen. he will have to watch over josh like he was a child again. why would a 50-year-old man want to be a parent again? tbh I think he would just send him to a state home for the D.D. and leave it be. visit him for chirstmas and that's all. I wouldn't blame clint for doing this. if josh fucks up legally, it's on clint. if josh complains to state (even if it's made up), it's on clint. I wouldn't want to put my freedom/money on the line for a 'tard that doesn't care for himself or others.

I’m not saying he should do it — just he has the options.

Clint gave up on Josh. He is keeping him off the street and running damage control.

That's what I was curious about and the options he has available to him.

But yea I think Clints given up on Josh for the most part he still cares about him but wants to decidedly keep him at a distance from the rest of the family, he won't let his starve or become homeless but he's not going to ask him to move back in unless there was no other option or he was in a medical situation where he needed round the clock care.

There is a big chance for josh to have a normal life. He is just to arrogant and pathetic to accept a normal workers life with all its hard work, financial and other limitations, since he wants too hold up the idea he is something "special" with all his magic and cobra shit.

In the given situation, waking up in Josh body i would do the following:

1. Stop drinking
2. Taking a shower
3. Shaving my beard
4. Getting a proper haircut
5. Wash my clothes
6. Getting a job with has low challenges for social abilities

Josh is not a 60 year old bum with total braindamage. If he stops drinking and whining, a workers life might be possible. But he wants to play the misunderstood genius instead of facing life like a adult.
Josh doesn't want a "normal" worker's life. He wants a girlfriend that's a positive support in his life. Society wants ugly freaks like Josh to work constantly and don't care that they drive home to an empty apartment every day. If you think living that existence would stop his drinking and addictions, you're mistaken.

There isn't a good solution with Josh, other than not creating genetic disasters like him.

Yes, and the smell of human shit is brutal enough without 4 different flavors of tactical soap thrown in the mix.

The Mal-Wart region is inhabitad by people like Cobes and other Casperites who practice less than optimal personal hygiene.

The whole Clint need to get power of attorney discussion happens every few pages and here is the skinny of it:

-Clint does not want to have poa over Cobes and has enough on his plate with his other less regarded children and family and job/art.
-Clint can't easily get poa without Josh's consent and unless he's literally out on the street and starts doing meth (and even then it's really difficult).
- The whole situation is realistically the best for both of them, Clint doesn't have to deal with temper tantrums and good smells 24/7 and Cobes has someone who makes sure he doesn't end up homeless.
- Clint can not make Josh do anything, he tried this for over 2 decades and it doesn't take thanks to Josh's psychological issues (that are treatment resistant, he's been to therapists and psychologists).

Thank you for the breakdown - if it weren't for Cobes and the KF I would have no idea how any of this stuff works.

I’ve been tempted to contact that Sperg guy in CWC forum. He has a legal background and could put all this speculation shit to rest. Lotta armchair lawyers, myself included, who just muck up the waters about what can be done.

I personally like watching the trainwreck but be nice to actually know.
Yeah I really would unironically love some legal fagging ITT.

Josh is a haircut and a shower from turning it all around
You cut my posting too 2 points i mentioned 6 points:

1. Stop drinking
2. Taking a shower
3. Shaving my beard
4. Getting a proper haircut
5. Wash my clothes
6. Getting a job with has low challenges for social abilities

I admit i didnt explain in detail how it was ment since i assumed it was obvious. Of course taking a shower or shaving his beard will not change Josh live.

Its the other way round: if i was wakening up in Josh body i would change everything. Of course, the attitude too achieve a normal or succesful live comes first. Stop drinking is necessary. The clean body, shave the beard and so on is ment to be done daily and as sign of an attitude to search success or at least a normal working live.

Beeing clean, with proper shave and haircut and clean clothes is surely a great point in the way of getting a job, few jobes where you can smell like an animal, look like a bum and get accepted by the coworkers.

Of course, if Josh stays josh getting clean clothes and a humanlike look would do nothing. But the scenario i answered was, what i would do if i awaken in Josh body in the give state. So if the attitude in Josh body changes he surely could find a way in a normal work and life. Of course it would be a struggle in his actual state, might take several month or half a year to get fit enough to even get a cheap job. But i wouldnt say its total impossible for him.

Josh doesn't want a "normal" worker's life.
That is one big problem. He dont want to adjust his demands to his abilities. I would say in many cases, the mindset of seeing oneself as superstar while beeing not very strong and clever person is what drives a person in a lolcow life.

I've spoken to lawyers about this issue before and they've basically told me;

"Depends on the state laws regarding guardianship. Depends if you can prove he's incapable of living independently and he can make reasonable decisions. The court process takes time, they afford as much freedom to the disabled individual as possible and the guardian isn't there to micromanage his life. It's primarily used to make sure financial and medical decisions are made appropriately for the disabled adult."

He basically has this already with Clint. SSI pays the bills, Clint takes him to the doctor when there's an emergency.

"I know what else too we can call him while he's livestreaming next and when he answers we can all scream JUAAAAAAAAAAY!"

why do this.PNG
