Just as an example in the UK there was a Comedy called "Two Pints and a Packet of Crisps" where a ongoing joke was Emma Watson being fancied by a guy who thought she was still a kid and it culminated with him wanking himself thin when he found out she was 22 (the joke was he was thick and didn't realise she was 18+) but it was a kinda meta joke about how she was handled in the press and they including the actor OK'd it with her before hand. (the actor was the same age as her too).

But outside of that there is something about his upbringing that makes me take pause in accusing him of any form of noncery, he was brought up knowing he was special needs and for a long time it was thought and taught that special needs kids are angels who are dim and don't need to know what sex is, Josh is right in the middle of that age group parents of special needs kids tend to think of them as innocents and treat them as such rather than humans with special needs - they can't filter so sexuality runs rampant in those communities, the two biggest groups for new and novel STI's are the Elderly living in care homes and the people living in speicla care followed by the LGBT community, When I was a drinker one of my Ex's was a care nurse in a adult special needs home and they had to do a test to find out who was spreading Ghonora around, and had weekly sex ed lessons with a small group who had AIDS, half of them got it in care as well.

If you had the misfortune of following any sort of conservative media commentators on twitter and youtube at the time, *discourse* about Cuties was everywhere. The existence of this movie was of course an exciting watershed moment for the right wing griftosphere as it seemingly confirmed that the "libs are trying to normalize pedophilia", a common right wing grifter talking point. Never mind that the libs who are supposedly doing all this normalizing of sicko behavior are currently obsessed with calling Leonardo DiCaprio a pedophile for dating of-age women in their early 20s and policing other such age gaps. Anyway, I didn't watch the movie, but I did read an interview with the director about the controversy and from what I can tell the movie was intending to criticize how sexualized culture has become. However Netflix tried to localize the promotional material like it was this yass queen slay girl power movie which led to advertisements that can only be described as sicko material. What's interesting about the whole controversy is that there's a show called Dance Moms on the Lifetime channel which is pretty much all the stuff Cuties is criticized for, except it's real and played completely straight, and it's entirely escaped scrutiny.

Jord watches almost nothing but sensationalist alt-lite grift content. It's his only source of news. He also takes in new information at what can only be described as a slow trickle, which is why most of his cultural references are from circa 2005.
