My guess is whoever did it made it sound like there was an imminent threat to his or someone else's life or safety. The police don't really have a choice to respond to those at other than face value.
I used to be a regular on the sub and back when the first swatting happened in 2019 it was universally agreed on calling the cops on Josh was not cool and the person who did it was a piece of shit. It's now just accept I guess.
