I got bitched at in the subreddit for asking about this, but I have read conflicting things in general about it. From what I understand you can't really fix lazy eyes after a certain age, and he is well past that age.It was for cataracts not for the lazy eye.

If you look closely now, he doesn't even have a lens on his right side anymore. He also says he's getting another eye surgery in a few weeks, so I assume they are removing a cataract from his left eye now.
Why doesn't he just cast a spell of regeneration to fix his eyes? Seems like the easier and more affordable option.
