Tutorial is relatively quick compared to KCD2 and once you meet Emil's clubhouse friends you can fuck off and do your own thing. Much quicker than the 3 hours it takes to actually gain freedom in KCD2,, and then you never have to engage with the dysgenic mutts of New Atlantis again. Main quest sucks anyways and all it leads to is New Game+ so why bother?

Half the drama surrounding the second game IS because it failed to be historically accurate and went into full fanfiction mode, despite still advertising itself as "historically accurate".
