Been looking forward to playing this all week. Did three different levels, I think.

Soytown, Gangsta and Snack Run. The Liz Fong Jones blockheads were great.

Great shit, everyone. Will definitely play some more of this, can't wait to see what's in the other levels.

You haven't looked behind everything.
Thanks! That did it!

Of course it ends up being in the one place I hardly looked at and pretty much discounted as a possibility. "It can't be there, it must be in one of these other spots. There aren't even walls and you can see through everything". What a fool I am.

@Crunkle my brother in christ, turn off the texture filtering
Been ages since I've played GZDoom, a very helpful person in chat gave me a hint so I switched it off after this. Really fucked how that's default, switching it back on again after feels like immediate cataracts.

I may have found a bug Esselfortium's smegma storage - the tag 666 sector did not lower after the mancubus died so I had to noclip to the yellow key.

Was playing on a fresh GZDoom install with default compatibility. Have others also encountered this or am I being a retard?

It is killing all the Keen that open doors.

Been playing it, and its quite nice, the base is absolute AMAZING, and really feels "alive". I don't know who put in all that work but even without opening everything up, it feels like a real lived in place.

Makes me want to actually visit the kiwi bar downstairs for real almost.

I did get a little stuck on HRT facillity, I feel like I did everything, got all keys, kills almost everything but...no exit? the null statue looks to be the exit but the teleport linedef keeps me from getting close??? perhas im being a retard, but still. Couldn't figure it out and had to teleport out, which didn't feel nice exactly

Disregard what I said then, am tarded.

Played through 8 maps so far - very nice work. Though Gangsta, with its obtuse progression wasn't my cup of tea. I prefer fast paced combat first maps, but at least it wasn't long. Soytown is probably the best out of the ones I played - it is over the top and loaded with site specific humor, but the combat is fun and the hub town is well designed. I did get a bit stuck hunting the final piece of cheese, but that wasn't too bad.

You win the map by either finding the secret BFG9000 and blasting Null to pieces behind the red shield (there should be enough ammo and the barrels provide some extra damage) or you go take the LGBT sign teleport, which brings you back to the large blue area, where a path in front of you has opened. Follow the looooooong path to the right and it will bring you back to the beginning, where the regular exit is found.

But those with divine intellect can make one that works on the original 1993 DOS version and runs decently on a 486DX4 100.
The 1993 version had many bugs and crashes, and only 10 species of monsters. I don't know why anyone should restrict himself from using better programs to run Doom

Its the challenge of making great levels with outdated tech that makes the hobby satisfying.

There’s a reason vanilla mapsets like BTSX get marveled at. There’s a fair amount of ingenuity involved in making it as presentable and playable as it is considering the limitations.

That being said, fuck BTSX. Xaser can suck on a tail pipe.

But is that really Doom anymore then?

Either the answer is yes or no, it doesn't change anything, except maybe for those who have this question as an idea fix in their minds

My FPS gets raped into oblivion in Kaotic Fears 2 when all of those monsters keep spawning in, what am I supposed to do?
