Kiwi Farms Community Doom Mapping Project

Finished with the rest of it.
Fatrick Mansion - pretty nice, backyard shootout is a good warm up, the inside decorations are a bit on the simple side, but using fake floors to make it into a three store building is good, the ceiling floor switch is very sneaky, great one, but as I understand the backyard secret requires jumping, that is very haram, you also end being way too oversupplied for what the level throws at you, even with a Cyberdemon fight in it.
Fatrick Tomlinson's Intestines - the most meta map in the entire wad, because its subject is Patrick Tomlinson, and more particularly part of his digestive tract it is destined to be shit, and it actually is, so it ends up going all the way back to being great.
Server Suicide - very solid, between the various locations, portal fuckery, good fights and their variety it stands with no serious problems with it, I particularly liked the multi store cell block for its visuals and the canyon fight, with only 1 secret found it was still a relatively relaxed level, also got a nasty bug that is unavoidable due to games scripting so I would recommend everyone to watch out for that, during the double Cyberdemon + Mastermind fight if you kill at least two of them at the same time it will only move the tower one step down, making it impossible to complete, I got even unluckier with a BFG shot that killed all three of them simultaneously and left me no choice but to load up a save that I've made previously.
Stinkditch Fortress - woah nelly, if Jersh actually tries playing through the wad I'm gonna bet that he won't make it past this, a real gauntlet, a slaughtermap if you wish that took multiple tries and over 2.5 hours for me to finish, two particular locations that deserve the spotlight are: the parallel halls with pools filled with health bonuses is a slaughterhouse, and the one which you will be forced to depopulate multiple times, I really like how integrated it was into the flow of the level, but I dread fighting through it again, and second is the round courtyard with the Cyberdemon, gaining foothold there is pain, you have no certainty that bastard demons on top of you won't shoot your ass while the area itself is filled with beefiest fucking fodder imaginable that will do everything to push you back, there is also a teleport arena with super shotgun that you can easily trigger early, but looks can be deceiving and despite looking tough it was actually kinda easy to clean up, unfortunately 2 denizens of Stinkditch Fortress were left alive and I couldn't be bothered to find the final secret. :winner:
Enter the Balldo - really, really like this one, when you start it feels very silly, with 2 secrets that essentially serve no purpose than to focus your attention on the map's doomcute elements, constant barrage of health bonuses, obviously referencing Rekieta's alcoholic downfall, even when the actual combat starts it never really tries to push you, even with total enemy count in hundreds there is no sense of urgency or threat to it and you kinda get slowly carried over the length of it, it feels like the whole level was made in jest only, but at the same time it sincerely gives you a good experience throughout the entirety of it, I only wish the elevator part in the beginning was faster, there honestly was no point to it being so slow, but outside of that, I can definitely call it the best one. :winner:
Kaotic Fears - and for the finale you get hit with this fucking stinker, I finished it and there were some things that I can say were kinda cool, like the start of the level itself being rather ominous, but as soon as you go down those stairs it goes to shit, no minimap, complete darkness, fake ass mirrors and only a random chance that you stumble upon the room with the only pair of nigthvision goggles instead of bumping into hell knight or the giant door that leads to level proper without anything but pistol in your hands, three of the four fights are actually not bad, but the fucking mirror room just kills it, I never did find the goddamn rocket launcher and only got yellow key by randomly bumping into shit, this feels like it was self sabotaged on purpose, because you can easily remove few of the things mentioned and it would be legit good.

Stinkditch Fortress was an absolute brute of a level. Great architecture and the music choice was funny, but god damn that thing has some tough encounters.

Nice recreation of the Kiwi servers

First I heard of this. Is LFJ one of the boss characters you have to defeat? I'm not interested enough to read 445 posts to find out.

Liz Fong Missing His Dong shows up on a wall alongside Ralph iirc in the last level

I think my biggest pet peeve about most of the wads is how the weapon placement feels a bit... neurotic?
It will make you through most of the level with nothing but just enough shotgun shells and clips, and then will throw rocket launchers/BFG at you at the very last moment just for a very specific part.

It's hard, undoubtedly, but just feels odd. Still enjoying it.

I didnt quite catch up the name, but whoever came up with Rat Den is a goddamn sadist.

It's what's called a "Tyson" map, i.e. level where you're heavily/completely dependent on melee, without knowing proper techniques like agitating skeleton aggro it can be very frustrating for a newcomer, here's an absolute masterpiece of a video that gives a few helpful tips.

Haven't dropped by the thread since the mod dropped. Many thanks to Judge Dredd for putting that together and everyone who contributed. The result is really neat, finally got a few hours of free time to give it a go, it's so cool seeing everything come together!

Making a strife-inspired kf-themed wad would be cool but probably unthinkable/
Strife happens to be the game I modded and mapped for way more than Doom. I'd be down for it, but that would be a long term project that I don't think anyone in their right mind would commit to.

That is why I think it's unthinkable to do so, nobody would do it, even with the most autistic community with people with too much time on their hands (2010 doomworld?).

Unless there's a patreon set up or some other way of monetizing it, but then it would be a privacy nightmare to do so.
