As far as all the complaints about journalism, yeah, I get it. It's not good journalistic practice. You don't have to worry about me being a shitty journalist, though, since I'm not going into journalism...

I fully admit this was a stupid and crazy thing to do. I just hope something good comes out of it.

May I ask:
1.) What do you think this will mean for your career in whatever field you have to pursue?
2.) Do you think employers will hire you after this, and/or do you think it will affect their ability to trust you?
3.) What would you say to an employer who ends up reading this article in the future?

I was kind of hoping to wait to hold on to the interview for the future to reference in a story if/when Jace is finally arrested, but after Jace said he was going to release it himself and I kept getting bugged about it on Twitter so I released it. Still getting bugged on Twitter, but whatever.

You understand that admitting that you're not a journalist, and that you weren't intending to release it but give it to the police means you were recording Jace under false pretenses? You've admitted some things that could get you in trouble in a civil case.

Seriously. As much as I hate to kill the lulz: Shut up. If you have any journalism professors, explain the situation to them, tell them what you just told us, try to get them to listen to your interview, and listen to what the fuck they tell you. I highly doubt Jace will pursue this but if you continue doing shit like this you are going to get in some big trouble.

For a journalist, you really don't investigate. It's clear to anybody after less than an hour of research, that Jace is the smartest and most competent of his friends. They can't enable him.

If you're aware of his mental illness, why did you call him a paranoid schizophrenic in your blog post? From what I've heard he's simply schizophrenic. It's really inappropriate to use medical terminology as vernacular: it implies that you actually have confirmation of a diagnosis. It's a bad idea regardless of whether you plan on being a journalist or filmmaker: god forbid you ever make a documentary like that.
