Have you not heard of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Why try to reinvent the wheel by recoding your own terrible forum when you can just as easily get a cheap set of forum software/hosting and not have to worry about it. I mean it's pretty obvious you're a bit of a sperg by your behavior and initial post, but still, come on.

This is off topic, but I like this question! The main reason for "reinventing the wheel" is because I don't want moderation to have to be the go-to option to keep a community together. Moderators are poison. Also, I don't like how you have to refresh threads with F5, in the modern age, your web page should automatically update when a new post is made. I also like the idea of not tracking IPs and preserving anonymity, something most modern forum technologies don't address.

Communities such as these are the future of a large number of Human social lives. It's the interactions and dynamics between the members that give people a sense of self, a sense of belonging, etc, forum software is a highly psycological thing, and by using psycology, I hope to develop a software that facilitates long-term friendships naturally by providing users with effective, fun, and gratifying contexts which will encourage the users to work together, etc.

TLDR, I really like psychology, and I think forums are the future of a large portion of Human communication, and relationships

It's exactly the opposite of the dynamic my Sociopath-Community aspires to be.

Why would sociopaths need a community? Isn't the defining trait of sociopathy that they don't need or want the support and approval of others? Isn't a circlejerk community the one thing no sociopath would ever want, ever?

Kinda makes me think your website is just a big circlejerk for edgelording faggots.

Sounds like you want an anonymous image board then, not a forum.

Well. @Lamprey is a bronie if their profile post is any indication on their site. Is Lamprey a charity case?

Forums have been around for decades, they're not exactly the future, they're the past. Sure, we still use them, but they're not suddenly going to kill off other forms of human communication.
Free forum posting without moderation is just idiocy- look at what happens on 8chan when they decided to run with fully free speech and no moderation. Abundant pedophilia and other disgusting shit.
IP tracking is also part of this- it allows you to get rid of people who spam shit posts on your forums rather than letting them just cycle through again and again.
So far you sound like those kids who think Anarchy is a cool thing, but don't realise how much trouble it would actually cause.

As a web forum, we have core members, and we have new members who come to us through searches. I'd describe SC as a few core members who have known each other for years. We stick around because.. why not? Many who come to SC come looking for themselves. Being owner of SC has taught me that even the ugliest of souls are not actually so ugly, just misunderstood.

Yeah, if they practiced Anarchy in rl, they'd get into a fight with @Dynastia and the cops wouldn't save them. Dynastia OP.

But none of you are sociopaths.

It's not that there should be NO moderators. Even my forum has 1 moderator, but he has only 2 jobs. Clean up pedo posts, and spam. That's it, and if he does ANYTHING beyond that, the members of my forum will cause an uproar because they value their freedom of expression.

It's my hope in the near future that my software will allow thread creators the ability to moderate their own threads. This would allow topic creators to choose to over all seriousness of their thread.

In regards to forums not being the future, Keep in mind that Google indexing relies on text content. Google Search will obviously grow in the future as more and more people use it. What do you think Google indexes mostly? Sure, websites, but forums are where a large majority of the world's information is held.

Also, I think that as Humans become more socially isolated, they will more and more look to online solutions to fill their social needs. Online friends means you can move anywhere in the world, and never lose those friendships. That sort of friendship is not common today, but 50 years from now? I think that will change.

But why doesn't your freedom of speech answer the question of why won't you fight anyone here in rl?

Why do sociopaths need friends?

cause their not sociopaths.

blah blah yah yah go draw your dark scenedogs and 'n shit.
Exactly. The whole premise of "Sociopath" is from the "Socio" prefix- the fact that they are extremely antisocial. Friends aren't something they do, only competitors and victims/people to take advantage of.

Aren't you supposed to be sociopaths though?
The majority of our members originally came to our site because they were wrestling with that same question. It's hard to answer because definitions are so varied. I don't even know if I am one, tho I think not, but idk.. sometimes I think the entire world is made up of sociopaths. Our definitions of "good" are so relative.

TLDR, psychology isn't as omniscient as you think, there isn't even a real diagnosis

Quit disrespecting me or you'll be banned.

... Coming from someone with no education versus people who have had years of training and require a master's degree to even work in their field. So, given the choice between some edgelord on the internet and a professional who's spent 8 or more years of their life in an attempt to understand, recognize, and work with the human mind? I think the answer's obvious. You're retarded, not sociopathic.
