I used to do shit for SS14, mostly DeltaV before I sought well needed therapy. I was fucked up a while ago, but have since gotten considerably better. I have the relatively complete timeline of what EE (Einstein Engines) was born from, the other reason PJB is so bitter towards them, and my own personal experience with the project and her denizens.
(I stumbled across this thread and website not too long ago, and thought I’d share my own side of things. Sorry if this all sounds retarded but I just wanted to get this out of my head.)
I’m not proud of the shit I used to say and do or the company I kept, but I’ve moved past that part of myself. Life was difficult (as difficult as a post-rona world can be), and I drifted into whatever community would take me. I found some sort of fulfillment making things for SS14, but ultimately after hitting the gym and getting therapy, I look back with disdain at the things I used to say and believe in. Curious how that works, isn’t it? But enough autofellatio, this isn’t a post about me. When I remove the rose tinted glasses I see just how hostile everything really was. Here’s something interesting that puts a mirror to the current situation;
Did you know that the fork of nyano Delta-V had their entire database in a stranglehold by one dev? (Nice security.) The entire codebase, the repo, all at risk by a single person. They were the only one that knew how to manage the server’s shit, and had the keys to the castle, in essence.
To put it bluntly, not a single member of staff nor community member had any sort of respect for “dev” (Reason for pseudonym near the bottom of this post). They were just an unpleasant person to even be in the same galaxy as. This is where the other staff (mods, jannies, etc etc.) came back with an ultimatum after taking the shit dev kept spraying for ages. They were sick of how much of a burden it was to deal with dev, and essentially said: “We are tired of having to deal with this fuck berating us and acting superior, fire him or we quit.”
You’re probably wondering, though, why hold the code at a strangle? Is it just standard bathtub estrogen psychosis again?
Nah, dev just didn’t like that people disliked unpopular changes pushed by force and couldn’t handle the heat. People complained a fuckload, to clarify, but what do you expect when you shove a change through the door? Although they were also a troon, so take of that what you will. (Shitty behavior + Troon seems to be a pattern, doesn’t it?)
Here’s the kicker, though; the owner, BasedPugilist, didn’t fire them due to the fact they were close friends in real life. Besides being incompetent at any actual logistics related to owning the server (moreso being a passive observer when he bothered to do so), BP admits himself that his own inaction was the reason for everything that happened.
Ultimately, half the staff left, and BP finally fired dev. (dev moreso crashed out publicly and then told everyone to go fuck themselves while saying there would be no more updates and the project could die with his absence.) Considering the repeated struggles of DetaV, it’s not very surprising that nobody wants to touch it. That, and all the weird shit from a while back with the borderline pedophilic atrocity.
If you really think about it, that sounds sorta similar to what’s happening now, no? Albeit not at the same level, but still eerily similar in the core aspects. Inactive owner, asshole in high position, staff resignation, and the fallout.
This all happened a while ago, and with delta’s staff exodus (including artists, coders… etc.) a guy named VMsolidus- who you might’ve seen PJB scratching at the asylum walls to talk to -joined together with some others to found EE. VM was a major contributor to DeltaV, doing actual cooode work.
This new branch was more than likely due to him getting sick of being treated like shit by dev, and was most definitely sparked by a big argument dev and him had. What happened in this argument is something only God knows, but it must’ve been something awful to cause VM to hop ship.
VM quit the same day, from what I remember. Interestingly, around 9 months after the staff exodus of deltav, we get the more recent news;
BP had decency to admit he had fucked up, albeit too little too late given the circumstances and aftermath. However, PJB saw the warning signs and didn’t bother to even try and take any sort of responsibility. “I’m the victim here!” “This is all your fault!” It shows with lashing out at anyone who could even possibly be associated with EE, even servers they’re friendly with or completely unrelated people that are just not ran by wizden:
To me, I feel the crackdown is a result of multiple things coming to a head. A worn out team (who wanted to avoid the politics associated with the codebase by being “the better upstream” and ironically enough finding even more drama) receives blanket punishment (mass dehubbing) because, who would’ve guessed, wizden don’t seem to treat pedo freaks with the same urgency as banning those who actually try to do something about it or god forbid break rules about characters in a video game.
To add a bitter footnote to this, you’ve likely noticed the “dev” in particular I keep mentioning is unnamed here. They were the host, or head maintainer of DeltaV. This anonymity is due to the fact that soon after all of this took place earlier last year, they killed themselves. It’s an open secret amongst the staff, but scarcely talked about. Those who seek it will know who they are, but I can’t in good conscience share more direct info unless people really want to see it. That’s why this whole thing has been pretty light on images, most of the context involves dev, and for whatever reason I can’t bring myself to post them. Maybe it’s just some lingering tension, or maybe I’m just a pussy. Either way…

Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you think I’m full of horseshit or not. A brand new account coming in and suddenly spewing all this shit I know is strange, but I couldn’t figure another way to get all of it off my mind. People deserve to know just how we got to where SS14 lies after such a short period, and I’m sick of not saying anything anymore. You’ve all said what I was thinking for ages, I just wish I could’ve found this sooner.

The final straw was most likely the ultimatum and realization of how fucked this project continues to be. Can you elaborate on some of the stranger beliefs you saw there? I've seen stranger and more disconnected from reality takes from SS14 power users than I saw in my lifetime as a founding TumblrInAction luser.

Impressive resume, but the things I saw weren’t earth shatteringly bad, moreso just strange.
That isn’t to say there isn’t one that I don’t have. I vividly remember somebody being banned for misgendering someone’s character out of spite. Now this is standard stuff, but the moderator no joke said “We would have done the same if they said a slur, for example.” So that means they equate calling someone a nigger to using the wrong pronouns in severity in terms of their rules. Still think about that one since I saw the whole situation play out.
Oh, and this was colonial marines. They have the same shit enforcement in any fork tied to wizden. This is most likely due to our friend smugleaf being the main developer, which explains quite a bit, yeah?

Sharing this is important because often these suicides turn into martyrdom when discovered. It's better to be open and honest about the situation than let the internet try to repurpose the story for victim points. If the dev is as bad as you say and you have screen caps then sharing them is the right thing to do. Showing the true person isn't speaking ill of the dead when they can't defend themselves. It's having an honest discussion of how bad they were and what lead them to taking their own life. Which can help others guide people away from the same fate. You said your opinions changed when you fixed your life. Seeing how bad Dev was can help others avoid the same fate and improve their lives because you showed them where Dev's path lead.

The only reason I’m hesitant is because I think I’m breaking the proverbial silence on this, nobody outside of delta v staff knows that this happened. Hell, I’m already compromising my identity to them by posting this, but I just can’t sit by and know that this situation never saw the light of day.
To me, the entire fallout of Dev was due to an obsession. This was what they had going for themselves, and being removed from their proverbial “job” sent them off the deep edge. The way they talked about it during the crashing out and the sheer hostility they took on was absurd.
Obsession would explain pretty much everything, the superiority complex, the “I can do what I want” attitude, and the amount of control had over the repo brew d into a perfect storm. And to add on to your comments… I’ll put something together for you all. I just hope the person who told me some of this stuff doesn’t hate me after this.

You will be glad to know this has been public since last Summer.
I did a bit of research. I think not only is it unsurprising that Delta V had the first SS14 suicide, I think it will continue to lead the pack and is the best contendor for a hypothetical first SS14 mass shooter.
Anyways, I have collated a collection of outsider Delta V lore from posts in various places and asking around. These range from mundane to bordering on schizophrenic. I will not be providing receipts; I want to hear what you think of this hearsay.
First, Delta V has a very anomalous ratio of size to active players. This is because it has a disproportionate amount of players logging 70, 80, or even 100+ hour weeks. Despite this, they are consistently unable to retain people with technical skills. This is because people fail the purity test for their religion. And no, this is a literal religion; a retarded millenarian cult. Here are the beliefs.
1) Fantasy is reality. When pressed, retreat to saying maybe fiction isn't reality but we should treat it like reality because this particular fiction contains some vulnerable people's entire lives. If pressed on this being very maladjusted, retreat to saying it's okay because the Ray Kurzweil Nick Land Gangster Computer God AI Rapture will make people lose their humanity, lose their mortality, and live forever in the Chris Chan dimensional merge as and with their favorite cartoon characters.
2) The greatest sin is to deny someone else's fantasy. Whether they're a woman, a cartoon animal, five cartoon animals, a god, or a little girl in a 30 year old man's body, you have to affirm this at all times.
3) We should live as if the aforementioned rapture had already happened. This means that, in terms of moral consequence, actions in fantasy are indistinguishable from IRL actions. Obviously killing etc is different because of respawn mechanics, but calling a dogman a cur is the same as calling a black man a nigger. Bullying somebody's character is the same thing as bullying them in real life.
This manifests in a few ways. First of all, not only is everyone I'm going to mention here trans, a good half of them are also "plural systems", "witches", "goddesses" or whatever other tumblr otherkin shit. This spaceman shit is serious business. There are loads and loads of infamous ban appeal threads where they are trying to get someone to have a struggle session over "simulated racism", or causing another player to cry in real life or have a real life panic attack.
The "roleplay" is supposedly to a high standard, but the setting has been completely sanitized and censored compared to what it forked off from. The playerbase shows extreme emotional response to even the most mundane black humor or bad ends your character could meet in Nyano or typical SS13 servers. This is especially notable as the predecessor was closer to the Eris end of intra-crew conflict. The "roleplay" then consists of vibrant cartoon animal conga lines, and nuke ops rounds being resolved via chess. By the way, there are many perma bans for people shooting the nukies trying to play chess. That's not hecking wholesome!
Misc lore:
The vast, vast majority of known natal females in SS14 are Delta V FTMs.
Delta V shares about 50% staff overlap with the Floofstation, an ERP server known for tolerating minors.
Delta V resents its progenitor and has systematically purged every Nyano player.
Lore on individuals:
BasedPugilist: Fell into their position via being handed Discord keys. Zero technical skills. Other people did everything. Quiet quit a month in and played World of Warcraft and spent patreon money doordashing pizza.
Debug: Went a bit crazy. Was seriously mentally and physically ill. First SS14 suicide.
Null: Retarded teenager. Technically skilled but almost more insufferable than Debug. A large plurality continue to believe debug faked his death and Null is his alt.
Alyx: Clergy of the above cult. Plural system. Phil's partner. Rich trust fund kid from Singapore or something. Easily the most cocky, smarmy motherfucker in all of SS14.
Phil: FTM. Slowly went a bit nuts. Failed webcomic artist. Freaked out over pitbulls being racist.
Samsterious: Plural system. Argued that queer people urgently NEED to be able to fulfill their fantasy of being a little girl in an adult man's body and that this is a core queer identity. Clergy of the aforementioned cult. Has a shitty blog where they talk about the occult and their necrophilia and feeder fetishes.
DLondon: Obese british pedophile. Several screenshots floating around of him ERPing with kids and getting memed on. Trying to push "simulated racism" as an alternative for "speciesism."
Morg: ABDL plural system. Most open lunatic, constantly schizobabbling.

This may set a personal record for the most bloated as fuck response I've ever penned on any website ever, but who says more words are bad, eh?

I'm not surprised Debug suffered from mental issues, I'm cooking up a super-document of everything I personally could find on him, minus the lore or forum postings from places I'm unaware of. It'll be a full comprehensive deep dive into the conspiracy, life, and year and a half it took for SS14 to kill Debug..?
Stay tuned for that one, I'm going all out on it, it takes a turn you wouldn't expect.
As for the players, this is objective fact. There are many a few players that dedicate entire days to SS14, I'd recon about 30-41% typically are regulars, but that's probably an inflated number. Newcomers arrive and go often, but the server still fills regularly. I've come to recognize a few of the regulars from my own degenerate nights in that game. It gets strange to see entirely new people and then the exact same familiar faces every single shift.
For those that don't want to read this reply, here's a brief summary that should help you understand the gist of it.
Yes, I'm serious. Most if not all of the issues here are just the cause of severe mental illness going unchecked. Whether it be crashouts, psychotic ramblings, or overall complete lack of awareness, the brain of these folk isn't tuned very well.

Understand this, if not anything else: When I was a part of this community as an active player and contributor, I was battling severe depression, OCD, and low self-esteem. After the first fallout of DeltaV, I decided to change my life. I lost about 50 pounds, hit the gym, and started realizing I didn't need some shitty troon game to enjoy my life. I overcame the worst of my depression, learnt how to live with my OCD, and don't feel so ass about myself.
I can appreciate instead all of you faggots for hearing me out, since if anyone figures out who I am in the troon server, I'm more than likely fucked.

They genuinely want to remove antagonists for being "LRP" all the time, with Revolutionaries, Rat King, and hilariously enough even certain aspects of Nukies. (No Warops.) Your mileage may vary depending on the server and the population of shitters, but it's generally a lot of fun. Wizden's culture has been notoriously mocked over the years, and this video by GRUG is my personal favorite example out of all of them of why arbiters of chaos are never talked down by the community, only the jannies. :

The strange superiority complex over LRP by some servers is ultimately what makes the two nearly identical, they're trying to capture the exact same feeling with different ratios.
As a side note, if you're degenerate enough to unironically play on ERP servers, those are mostly Medium to High roleplay. Apparently getting into an orgy with two furries, a small woodland creature and a homosexual man is what is considered good roleplay. At least, according to this guy named Morg. Maybe it's different on LRP or some shit, but I just couldn't stand it anymore. The "sanitization" extends to so many parts of the game that it just doesn't feel like a passion project anymore, it's a glorified hangout. There's no culture, no spice, and these effects ripple to every server, since Wizden is ultimately the fork every single server can trace back to. If you're a downstream of Wizden and want to keep your good boy status, you VILL remove Vox boxes.

As for the players, this is objective fact. There are many a few players that dedicate entire days to SS14, I'd recon about 30-41% typically are regulars, but that's probably an inflated number. It gets strange to see entirely new people and then the exact same familiar faces every single shift.

Turns out, he's got himself a NSFW twitter account... full of reposted furry porn. I blasted my eyeballs out so you don't have to, and found that the bio confirms his name, ties to his discord, birthday, and more than likely even current age:

As to the theories of this being Debug;
I don't know for sure or have super concrete proof... but something stinks.
- Both from the Netherlands.
- Both SS14 contributors for mostly the same servers, pretty much in the same areas.
- Null appeared almost immediately in the SS14 discord after the last message Debug ever sent, literally the next morning.
- Debug's final message to the DeltaV server was on March 19th, 2024, Null joined the SS14 discord on March 20th, 2024.
- Both have relatively similar interests (To the degree I'm suspicious.)
More coming on this soon... I just can't shake the feeling that something is strange, everything is just way too similar for this to just be sheer coincidence.
