I think catbeasts are a really old race, iirc the ERPing bay12 forum dwellers came up with them right away when creating Baystation. Felinids aren't present though since it's a TG race and Riviera is an old Bay fork.

Felinids or traj-whatever the fuck? Former is a /tg/ thing, latter is/was a bay thing(?). Skrell and Dionae are the other major bay race additions.

Plant samples dont exist as that was a xenobotany thing so thats why that currently doesnt do anything special, if they are supposed to do something else then that doesn't exist in the current botany system

The worst part of the wallening is the amount of tg players coming to Monke. Tg players are fine but everyime tg goes down they show up to grief on my server cause tg will go back up and they leave.

tgstation is so insufferable because the coders will just fundamentally change the entire game every month or two with shit no one wanted or asked for

Haven't played ss13 in like a decade because the game got colonized by furries and tg was always shit, but I keep an eye on things still because it's a cool codebase. Only here because I knew people would be mad at it:

• Visibility is ass. lmfao @ blocking half a tile.
• Vertical walls look like ass. lmfao @ 90% of the sprite being black. Very cool looking!

• The fact that you can only have wall mounted shit facing south is brain dead. The "North Crunch" was always an issue, but lol @ making that a problem for east/west as well.

• Looks like shit for literally any direction that isn't "left to right"

This is basically just a bog standard "spriter wants to do dumb shit so they can say they did dumb shit and pretend to be productive", because sprites don't need refactors like Code does. basically the 2d spess equivalent of the perpetual reddit/discord/etc slop redesigns.

I'm glad TG's keeping up the tradition of merging dumb shit. can't wait for them to replace intents with a radial menu to select if you wanna punch someone every time you click them or something lmao

That's the gist I got, power hungry admins, oney and the NG people who made it fun leaving to focus on NG stuff.

Eventually it just wasn't fun for anyone

Unfortunately I don't think Oney or his close associates are the best judge of character (see: Veronicaandjelly and Shadman, who they defended implicitly until he became a crackhead and started shit with them) and animators are workaholics.

Has anyone had any luck getting SS13 to work on Linux? I honestly just hate fiddling with Wine and I don't like Windows, simple as.

Usually I use proton when running window games (steam can easily let you access this by going into games and selecting "add non-steam game"), however BYOND will not work with proton (you will always be stuck on a loading screen).
