Even all the degenerate drama surrounding the development team and the community of SS14 aside, the "game" itself is just shit. Half of the SS13 experience is codebase (gameplay), the other half is playerbase (roleplay).
When speaking of SS14 gameplay, imagine SS13 with no other codebases except for pseudo-TG without even a half of SS13 gameplay depth but with questionable choice of UI and worsened core game mechanics. It's not nearly as interesting as SS13 to play.
In regards to the roleplay in SS14 - it's just cancer all around. 90% of all servers are RU, i've only seen like 2-3 barely populated EN stations on their hub. Now I can't tell you what kind of audience is playing on those western servers as I've never personally joined them, but from what I could tell it's just redditors and furries - think of Yogstation's playerbase. These kind of people would rather flock together in metagangs to bar RP for the entire round then do anything fun at all. It's most likely a snoozefest 24/7 on those servers, though I'd like to hear from somebody who actually does have an experience of playing there. Also you probably weren't going to do it regardless, but don't even bother hopping on the RU servers. There're only gmod darkrp school kiddies there, playing the game because their favourite jewtube e-celeb told them to.
In conclusion, yeah, don't bother with this self-proclaimed reboot. You are very likely to find yourself disappointed.

Yeah I don't know if it's because I've just never bothered to look or not, but I've never heard of any stories or anything coming out of ss14 like you see in ss13, even in lowpop player bases like us with Riviera there's always some comfy/dumb/good shit going on. It just seems dull in comparison and like you said, not worth even looking at

I thought everyone knew pbj was a /vg/ coder, he was a smart fella who wastes his talent on this shit ass game (and it's remake with ss14) He left /vg/ if I remember because he's was a gaylib who started to hate when people would say mean things.

Unsurprising, terminally online autists are either trannies or chuds, no in between. If an autist exists and they're a code wizard, it's only a matter of time before trannies gravitate towards the space housing said wizard and either convert him or make him hate them, sadly due to the way society is right now, they're most likely going for option A. Trannies physically and mentally can't stop themselves from ruining everything they touch and just stay in their echo chambers. If it involves any "high skill" like coding, it's gurrenteed to have trannies at the top.

Based. Worth learning even if there was a resident drawfag, it's a good skill even if you don't use it often, like math. I use it but that doesn't mean I'll get a degree in it, same thing with drawing.

Worth learning tbh, you can use standard photoshop/gimp or whatever your preferred flavour of image editor is with a 32x32 canvas which is 1 tile in SS13, or just edit/create them straight through DreamMaker which is installed alongside BYOND. There's also this guide for a general intro into spriting, and this colour pallet that the original BayStation12 code uses, so you have a good point to start from in terms of consistency with the rest of the sprites:

That reminds me, currently a trip down the disposal tubes usually ends with you in crit at Cargo Disposals and laying there for 10 minutes before you die because nobody ever checks that room. Maybe make the tubes deal less damage or even hardcode them to not damage you beyond red health so you could still leap your way out of there or at least call for help? @geckogoy

I did a bit of training with botany. You bastards better smoke/inject whatever I give you, I swear to God. Nothing more boring than people just refusing to interact with what botany is doing.
