For context, Nioh was a souls like game where you play as a drunk, white, culturally appropriating sailor. Women throw themselves at your feet while you brutally execute demons and half naked jap bandits. Half the bosses are some variation of "monster girl who leads men astray and eats them." This would go on to be Team Ninjas best selling game because it kicks ass and is fun. Their other top selling titles are Dead or Alive (a fighting game where you can shake the controller to make the boobies jiggle) and Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volley Ball.

Yes, this is why I gave clarification so that people here understand the term as Ian is using it. The irony is that the internet Lefties I mentioned, more specifically the game journo clique, can be broadly characterized as a very promiscuous lot themselves, so their derogatory use of the term to refer to a guy who gets laid a lot can be taken as a sign of envy.

A variant of the Lefty "fuckboy" is "soft boy" when the person in question is less masculine and more sensitive in the process of getting laid. This is what they were calling internet personality Nick Robinson in 2017 when they were ousting him from Polygon for the crime of mutually flirting with women of legal age.

In any case, this article among other recent ones from Kotaku are likely to be outcome of infamous long-time Kotaku writer Patricia Hernandez, known for bottom-of-the-barrel content, recently getting promoted to editor-in-chief last month, seemingly out of sheer employment seniority more than anything else.
