Hideaki Anno in some interviews also said that the characters have a bit of him and people he knew in them as inspiration and representation, and he said or it is said that Evangelion was his outlet to express things and frustrations he built up and encountered upon seeing the facade of youthful otaku life fade away upon the end of the 1980s and Gainax doing stupid things, like how otaku didn't rise up and just sat on their asses instead of what was portrayed in Otaku no Video, and how he was not allowed artistic liberties during Nadia: Secret of the Blue Waters. Evangelion is a lot of things, but Oancitizen is playing the "anti-deep" faggot card that every contrarian enjoys playing and swears they're not playing the autist game of "What does Evangelion really symbolize?" with the others who want the absolute answer. Too bad the idea of just enjoying it as a mecha show with a lot of high sci fi and surreal realism and a greater emphasis on psychology goes over his head.
I'm not surprised he teamed up with that fatass, both of them suck at analysis, critical evaluation, and looking at developer's insights to understand what does and doesn't work about the work or know what they were trying to express. What is the internet? To these fools, but a place for porn and angry people. It's not like it's also a repository for information if you look hard enough. I got all of my information off of Evageeks and a bit of, gasp, critical thinking.

He could be talking about his "partner" and I mean that in the non-sexual sense as she was a lesbian from what I understand. She was the editor and I think she worked behind the camera when he'd do his little "Brows Held High" video segments. I don't really follow his antics on or off the internet so I can't say for sure. Although didn't he show up on one of those Channel Awesome tweet chains with Lindsay at some point? I could be mistaken because there's only so much weaponized autism I can handle at once. But if it is Lindsay he's talking about then we need to find out more.

I know who you're talking about...Ren or something. But I don't feel that she had to 'pull' or contacts that Lindsay has, which is why I'm more inclined to think it's about Lindsay. I checked & they aren't friends on Facebook. Not sure if they follow each other on Twitter or not....

Oh he definitely wants the attention. Most of these former Channel Awesome people are the neediest people on social media. They're no longer relevant in the public eye, aren't pulling in the numbers on their videos, have to actually work jobs to make ends meet so they go to social media where they can bask in their former glory and pretend like they're still popular.

You were not in a cult.
