I was listening to one of @Odie Esty's old It Came From the Internet podcasts the other day and he said you could probably trace most of the modern shitty internet back to TGWTG and Doug Walker. I think he was spot on. Doug's like the Genghis Khan of autism.

Exactly. Searles starting going at it when Lindsay's controversy actually started and kept going for a while. There was a bit of a lull, then the video came out and Searles went nuts again. Like I said before, unlike a lot of the Chez Apocalypse clique, Todd seemed to learn something from Gamergate and has been pretty mum on the drama front since (even when CTC hit he just left with everyone else). If he is speaking out now, I think something serious happened. Either Lina has been threatened or he's extra worried about Kyle (which I suspect given how much his statement focussed on him).

Brad used to be pretty into cocaine if I remember correctly. He was also a full-blown basement dweller when he started out. In my experience, though, the people who wear their weirdness on their sleave tend to actually be a lot more stable than the self-proclaimed virtuous. I mean, look at Allison. She is a complete fucking mess and we all know Jew Wario liked to play the wholesome Mr. Rogers of the internet. Meanwhile Brad is all "I'm a weirdo who likes fucked up porn and exploitation flicks" and he is married to a fairly normal woman, has a stable group of long term friends he knows in real life, isn't a terminal twitter drama addict, and has a pretty decent reputation outside of the CTC lunatics. I've met him a couple of times and found him to be surprisingly functional and socially competent unlike the bulk of TGWTG idiots. A lot of horror weirdos tend to be like that, actually. "Hi, yes I like movies with sex demons in them. Anyways, want a cup of coffee?" Actually, I remember someone saying something like "that's funny how they had 0 collaborations with Jewario and never mentioned him, but when he offed himself they all suddenly knew him very well and now mourning". These people all whining about how inconsequential they are sure do have a lot of pull for a bunch of nobodies.
