I really want to like it, but there are elements that I just can't stand. Rocky, pretty much, who leans far too hard into 'Hoo wacky goofy woobie sadboi who likes DA PANCAKES!'

Yeah I know he has a fucked up dark side that shows up a little more here and there but I still don't like him. Anytime the comic moves away from him to somebody else it is more interesting, so I hope the show proper uses its ensemble better.

Micheal Kovach must be chuckling to himself as he rosins up his bow and puts his fedora on while watching Hazbin Hotel shit itself to death on Amazon with corporate cookie cutter voice actors and also Keith David ramdomly.

"Look what I almost stepped in." Vivz must be seething that the VAs she screwed over for some egomaniacal reason actually dodged a bullet not being involved in the shitshow she turned a fabulous opportunity into.

Honestly I wish Hazbin Hotel stayed on YouTube and Helluva Boss became the corpo show. The concept is far more interesting. That song of all the original Hazbin Pilot VA’s got me in the feels.

Well, I wish Helluva Boss had remained the show that the pilot and first few episodes promised.

But now, I wish Lackadaisy gets an actual season, because the trailer for it looked interesting.

The pilot for Lackadaisy was great, especially after watching the first episode of Hazbin Hotel and how swear-happy it was

Nah, I used to read it regularly. Shit was good. Hell, it's the only reason I gave this a chance.
I'm glad it let me know it existed so I could check it out. Actually good webcomics are so rare.

Okay first I'll talk about the webcomic. It's... alright. Not terrible but not amazing either it's a pretty standard storyline honestly. I have no strong opinions on it and the fact that the plotline moves so slowly definitely doesn't help.
As for Rocky I also get why people dislike him. He definitely comes across as very out of place he almost feels like a character from a different series all together that somehow found his way into this one.
I do get what they're trying to go for though. It's clear his entire schtick is he craves attention because he never received it from his own family so he has to be the loudest most annoying faggot in the room so everyone pays attention to him. But there were probably better less scenery chewing ways to do that.

I do agree that it really shines any time Rocky is not on screen. Fuck, I find Mordecai more interesting as a character than Rocky so the fact that Rocky is seemingly the "Main character" here is a bit disappointing.
Honestly main trio in general seem more boring than Mordecai himself. Freckle is more or less just a pushover faggot that can't make his own decisions so he lets Rocky push him around and Ivy? I dunno, I don't really have strong opinions on her, she's just kind of there.

Another reason why Mordecai shines more too is the fact that we know more about him than the main cast for instance too. Which is another issue. In general he just seems more appealing as a character because we know more about him, we know his past and we know his motivations/stake in all that's going on.
Meanwhile Rocky's entire thing just seems to be he's obsessed with the one woman who didn't tell him to go fuck himself. That's his motivation.

Meanwhile it's clear Mordecai feels indebted to Atlas for saving his life which is why he's looking for vengeance. He already has a much more interesting motivation than the other 3 too.
It really feels like he should've been the MC and not fucking Rocky.

As for the pilot? Eh, it's alright. I feel like it does it's job for what it's supposed to be.
Hopefully the series can fix the mistakes of the comic like giving us more insight into the characters and such. But that remains to be seen.

Mordecai is awesome.
I thought so until that short of him playing chess got released and he kept badgering the other guy to name his strategy. Nigga, just take back his knight or shut the fuck up.

I think the entire point was he was intentionally manipulating him to throw the game. Victor would have won if he pursued his strategy and Mordecai knew that.
I mean, the guy is a murderous sociopath so it doesn't really surprise me that he's petty too. The creator also said somewhere that he's the smartest character in the series so far, so it wouldn't exactly be a stretch.

Should probably make it clear also but when we saw he's awesome we mean it in a sort've ironic way. Mordecai is more like a Walter White type character in the sense that he's clearly a bad guy. Like shit I'd argue he's worse than Walter considering he's presumably killed scores of people. He's cool in the sense that he has potential to be an interesting/entertaining maniac to watch.

Honestly, I kind of hope he dies a horrible death considering what he's done. I feel like he's unfortunately the most likely to be killed too considering he's playing double agent and if he gets found out you know damn well his two psycho partners won't have any qualms with offing him.
It's unfortunate because he's again the only character that keeps me interested. So if he dies then my interest dies.

I don't want him to die unless it's after he figures out who killed Atlas.

He's the only one who even seems to care.

Mitzi is so obviously the prime suspect that no way it's she.

Oh shit, I forgot about this thread.
Anyway, well like I said in my post he's like the only character that's interesting to watch so I also hope he doesn't die. I just have my suspicions.

Mordecai is the only character in this who seems to have some kind of moral compass.

Really? From what I can tell he's a serial killer more or less. He just gets paid to do it.
Though you are right in that he does have SOME morals in the sense that he clearly cared about his family and also clearly feels indebted to Atlas for saving his life hence why he's seeking revenge. But for the most part his moral compass is pretty flimsy and he'll probably kill you any chance he gets unless you benefit him in some way.
Hence why I compared him to Walter White. He's not a good guy by any stretch, but he's the most interesting character so far. We know the most about him and his past and why he's even doing what he's doing in the first place whereas everyone else is either annoying or we aren't told jack shit about them enough to care. Which is funny considering he's not even the main character. Yet he has more characterization than the rest of them.

I think the actual main character is the annoying pancake cat. I feel like the story would be better off following Mordecai, it'd be infinitely more interesting.
