I don't understand why complications from elective surgery should be fixed and paid for with tax dollars. Am I just heartless, or is it truly absurd?

Loony troons have famously difficult relationships with their crotch butchers. The most serious and only permanent offense is refusal to operate. Even a botched surgery sends them down a particularly insane form of the Kübler-Ross cycle - no matter what happens they always return to optimistic coping between the "normal" steps. I have to repeat, no matter how botched the job is, the usual mantra is "Dr. X is a wonderful, experienced, skilled surgeon, he/she does stellar work, it's going to look marvelous after it's healed" -> "well even Dr. X can have bad days and/or this particular job must have been difficult" -> "I mean yeah he/she mangled my own crotch so fucking bad but it's going to turn out just delightful for you" -> "if I were you I'd call in for a revision even though he/she never picked up my calls, he/she must be extremely busy these days" and so on and so forth.

TL;DR they are fucking insane to even consider undergoing this kind of surgery in the first place.

Landon always interested me a little more than most online troons because he seems to have a sliver of self awareness (his instinct to DFE when he first found this thread showed us that) so I'm pretty surprised he'd go back on that and just straight up post a screenshot from his thread. I'm sure that any regular, non-GRS surgeon would refuse to touch these cases unless someone held a gun to their head. There's no upside for them. They would have to accept dealing with a mentally ill patient with a proven track record of bad decisions, the odds of being able to actually "fix" the problem are pretty much nil, and any intervention and consequences will become part of their own failure stats.

If you're a surgeon who wants to keep his failure rate as low as possible -- and duh, who wouldn't -- best to keep the amholes as far from your practice as possible.

Regular surgeons undoubtedly have much the same opinion of these GRS surgeons as Kiwi Farmers do. How could they not? They've seen the outcomes.
