Yeah but I heard there are more fake coins going around because most people buy coins instead, sort of like how there are more fake picassos than monets because picasso is more famous

Anyway, I hear kruggerands are the most legits nowadays, can anyone confirm?

The drama behind Grumpy:
It was getting pumped so high the woman who owns the copyright for Grumpycat noticed and threatened the devs with a lawsuit. Thus, the coin was unlisted from a bunch of exchanges and the project died. That's all I know.

There's a chance grumpy might rise out of the ashes if a deal can be worked out.

There's way more to it, but I just know bits and pieces that I'll try to list.
- Original and 2nd dev teams were pnd scammers, current team is probably still related to them.
- There was a WhiteBIT listing in the works. WhiteBIT is a shady af Estonian exchange that got a c&d from Grumpy IP owner, let the devs (2nd team) know privately, devs proceeded to dump their bags, and only then made the c&d public causing panic.
- At some point copycat coins started showing up, ranging from the obvious scams (GRUMPYX, GRUMPEE) to semi-scam clones such as CharityCoin, SRVL, and few others I'm forgetting.
- The MethAnon saga details would go here if I remembered them. He was planning to fork Grumpy, then planning to develop an entire blockchain for it but got distracted and is doing some project with e-thots now.
- Currently the Grumpy team is pushing a narrative that they got a big CEX listing in the works and there's a competing project called MeowDAO coming up that you can swap your grumpy for.

I left out the pages of whining, backstabbing, and shittalking from their various telegram channels but I'll assure you that it was entertaining.

Can put general memecoin shenanigans in this thread, would fit the theme.

Currently the OG $Grumpy telegram is still speculating about the CEX listing. MeowDAO is still fudding their /biz/ threads and sperging in telegram. I don't follow SRVL but sounds like they got their own dumb drama going on.

The dev of Scrotus has promised to dox his balls when the telegram gets 100 users. He also plans to donate to the poor and upload videos of him getting kicked in the nuts by said poor. This seems like a very trustworthy and profitable project!

Edit: /biz/ grumpy thread update, they started doxxing each other. Someone mentioned the MeowDAO dev's name is Trevor, and then this was Trevor's (I assume) response. That fellow is part of the OG Grumpy team.
