Law and Order Discussion - ADA McCoy will put all of you in jail

Fontana was too forced for my taste, but to each their own.
Fontana was nice in that he had an edge to him and it wasn't forced, along with the fact that he was a bit world weary without the angst we got from Brisco from time to time.

Also the writers were smart enough to drop the hints from the first couple of episodes with him that implied that he may have mob ties/be a dirty cop taking bribes from the mafia that, in hindsight, may have been the writers setting up an escape hatch deal in the event Fontana didn't work out.

Finally a thread to sperg about Law & Order waifus. I'm biased towards Angie Harmon since she has that husky voice but her episode trapping that serial killer into confessing to avoid a fake death penalty on the table in Texas was my favorite moment with her. Honestly all the assistant DAs are great imo.

Also who's your favorite cop duo? I always liked Briscoe and Curtis.

I do like Fontana being edgier and dirtier, even if his performance is a little forced sometimes. My favorite moment with him is the episode where a kid gets kidnapped and he gets the suspect to confess where she's being hidden by dunking the dude's head in the toilet Big Lebowski-style.

Worst cop duo though imo is Green and the black haired chick. Fontana was kind of forced but holy shit this bitch was the worst lol

I mostly see Law & Order on Ion, which for some reason only shows the McCoy seasons, so everything pre-2001 doesn't exist to me. By that standard, Green is probably the best detective, with Anthony Anderson being the worst, so of course they bring Anderson back for "Season 21".

Milena Govich was cute but her kind of detective belonged on Criminal Intent.

I think my favorite episode is the crossover with Homicide: Life on the Street when some Nahtzee gases the NYC subway and they catch him and McCoy is like tell us who helped you and dude is like nah but it doesn't matter we're everywhere

Or maybe the one where the brutal serial killer runs to Canada and Canada won't extradite unless they're promised no death penalty then after he's back in custody in Manhattan the guy confesses the details of all the people he casually offed total psychopath so bam death penalty back on the table and McCoy tells the Canadians to eat shit when they cry about it

Or the one where Benjamin Bratt rejects the thottery of Julia Roberts

Anyone remember the short-lived spinoff with Bebe Neuwirth as the ADA? God damn she was so adorable back in the day. I think Orbach's last L&O scene was in that one?

I liked them a lot, but I'm going to have to give the edge to Brisco and Green. Jesse Martin is just a better actor than Benjamin Bratt.

Based as fuck.

Munch and Fin!
It's a crime they didn't get more screentime together.

By the way, anyone actually watch this one? Is it any good?

I liked Trial by Jury well enough, though probably most because I like Bebe Neuwirth a lot. A shame they didn't try to fold her character into one of the other shows after it got cancelled.
