If you could find enough people of that generation and ask them how they met their wives or husbands, you'd surely hear a few stories that would qualify as outright stalking today. I'm not exactly sure why that's the way it was back then, but it was. Guys had to be persistent and that persistence was usually rewarded. Maybe Bob gave Chris some well meaning advice that just wasn't appropriate for modern times, and Chris is just too dumb to realize that.
That's actually a really valid point. On top of that, Bob probably told Chris repeatedly that he had to work hard for what he wants. Welp, dummins wants sexy times, so apparently that's what he's going to focus every fiber of his being on.

This is where your idea falls off. I'm sure Bob did try to get Chris to work hard plenty of times, but that's probably what Chris describes as "starting arguments". He doesn't harass women because he thinks that qualifies as hard work, he harasses them because he doesn't respect their wants.

All this leaked shit was six months ago. Don't be so sure. He's in a much different place now.

I think the interesting thing about it is that it seems to show Chris actually understands that the word 'gay' applies to both men and women. The way we've seen him use it in more recent posts, such as the one on about gender and orientation. He always seems to tiptoe around the word gay and only use it exclusively as meaning attraction to men, such as in the case of gay men. This leak, though indicates that he understands that he could be considered a gay woman.

I'm aware that it's from December. However, this is still after his "coming out" on Facebook, encouragement from both Catie and Renee to seek out more LGBT friends, and actually attending LGBT events. I understand wanting to give Chris the benefit of a doubt, but let's be fair to what's shown here too. I doubt Chris is the cartoonish homophobe he used to be but that line does show he's still not comfortable with the association.

I wonder what would happen if one of the lesbian girls at Impulse told him "Oh Christine, I love having a gay friend like you"
Considering he doesn't like being associated with the word (even when it does apply to his hypothetical case), would he be mad or something?

I'd guess he'd be a little uncomfortable, and probably correct her that he's a lesbian friend, but I doubt it would seriously put him off.

One of my professors used to call this "being too stupid to fear", and it's absolutely an advantage when employed at the right times. The problem is that Chris is dumb all of the time, so he's also "Too stupid to anything-else" and that advantage is basically nullified.
The problem is that there's a huge swathe on the intelligence spectrum between where Chris is now and where Chris would need to be to be successful.

If Chris was slightly smarter, he'd look at his situation more realistically. But he wouldn't be smart enough to actually succeed in finding a girl. Being slightly smarter would just depress the fuck out of him. He'd need to be a lot more smart to actually make it work.

If he was slightly smarter maybe he'd realize you actually have to be able to bring something to the table if you want a girl to be attracted to you. He really expects it to be a love at first sight type of thing. He has no idea how to nurture a relationship or build attraction. Probably doesn't help he's never tried to improve at making friends in the past. He just expects a woman to be into him for no real reason.

i thing is more probably that he choose to be ignorant about everything in his life, if he begin to think why people avoid him like the plague it will probably end in another rant about how he is going to end in limbo if he kill himself

he avoid reality to not fall in desperation

The similes and metaphors are priceless, and depressing at the same time. While clearly his appearance and social views have changed, his writing quirks have remained. Also, it's as if he's so immersed in his bubble of child-like consumption, all he can relate things to are stuff like Legos and cartoons.

I don't know. Finding a relationship is not rocket science. What proportion of the population finds a meaningful relationship at some point in their life? 99%?

I don't think it's intelligence that hurts him. He is an idiot, but lots of idiots find people.

Well, it's not purely intelligence, admittedly. It's also how much work is ahead of him. Right now, Chris thinks he has access to the sexual market as he is. He doesn't think he has to change anything about himself to get a sweetheart. Really, he feels he's entitled to a sweetheart as he is.

If Chris accepted the truth, it would be a huge blow to his ego, and extremely painful, for him to realize that. He'd be looking at the big mountain of work ahead of him.

Let's be fair, he's a pretty massive idiot.

I mean, substantially more so than, say, the idiots that I have to babysit at my job. You might not need much smarts to get a date or a relationship, but you still need greater than zero.

He's probably safely in that 1%. He also thinks he deserves a girl who is an 8-10. And in practice Chris does more to hurt his chances than he does to ever improve them.

99% of the population except him. That pretty much sums up the Infinitely-high boyfriend factor, instead of trying to emulate what worked for those 99%, he's jealous of their success over him and continues endlessly to search for a boyfriend-free girl in his own stupid and autistic ways, further drifting towards the point he can never EVER have any lasting and meaningful relationships.

It bears repeating, but Chris himself is by far the biggest obstacle in his Love Quest than any jerks.

I suppose he is pretty dumb. But I don't think it is really intelligence that holds him back. At least pure IQ type intelligence. Of course, it is mostly stuff that goes on his brain that prevents him from finding a sweetheart, and anything that goes on in the brain can be called intelligence of some type. So it's valid in that sense.

As for wanting an 8-10. On paper he does. In principle he can't tell a 10 from a 3. He would be happy with whoever he could get. Unfortunately that seems to be noone.
