I suppose he is pretty dumb. But I don't think it is really intelligence that holds him back. At least pure IQ type intelligence. Of course, it is mostly stuff that goes on his brain that prevents him from finding a sweetheart, and anything that goes on in the brain can be called intelligence of some type. So it's valid in that sense.

As for wanting an 8-10. On paper he does. In principle he can't tell a 10 from a 3. He would be happy with whoever he could get. Unfortunately that seems to be noone.
I mean he has so many dealbreakers, let's just discuss the main one. Autism. Most girls wouldn't get caught dead dating a guy with such obvious autism. Besides the fact they're just unpleasant to be around and hard to really talk to about much of anything, they're an embarrassment. Women care way more if their mate impressed other people than men do. There's also no polishing his autism and saying, but yea he's got a great job, is a great person, provides.... nothing. He has nothing to of value to offer a woman. That alone is enough for no woman to ever associate with him romantically. Add the manbaby, trolling past and tomgirl elements and it gets even worse for him.

Everybody, I know it sounds like I'm A-logging hard right now. But let me ask you this. Try to envision a possible scenario in your head about some type of woman who would actually date him? How ridiculous of a character is she and how likely is she to exist?

He can tell.

I don't know, I would point out that I think Chris does, in fact, have the assets to attract someone. He just refuses to accept the losses that would entail.

Chris would have to drastically clean himself up, work aggressively on his social skills, and even then significantly lower his dating standards.

The standards for getting laid are abysmal. Chris can do it. He'd just have to make the sacrifices. And he won't do that as long as someone permits him to live in his fantasyland.
He can tell.
I don't think he consciously does, at least as far as his actual desires go. If Chris got a really unattractive girl, he'd be completely entranced with his acquisition. He would have lots of trouble pointing out unattractive features on her.

He'd have to be slightly less of an asshole. Just slightly.

He'll never do even that, though.

The problem isn't that she doesn't exist; it's that Chris wouldn't date a woman who would actually date him.
If he was ok with a woman who was below average in looks, had some mental disorder like autism, and if he was fine with a girl who didn't work like he doesn't work; she exists.

There are documented instances of people with down syndrome falling in love with each other. There are instances of people with similar mental retardation that fall in love with each other. There IS someone out there for Chris. But Chris doesn't want that type of girl.

Chris refuses to be with anyone who wouldn't be able to support him, take care of him, and let him be at home all day to play video games.

He implied Kacey was fat the first time they met, didn't he? He said something like "you're more... (made a hand gesture) then I would have thought". Or something like that.

I think if Chris found an IRL girl that would date him; he would instantly blow it by trying to hit on or start some side relationship with an internet "girl".

In the end; the kind of girl Chris can get and the kind of girl Chris wants are two very very different people.

Chris can tell which girl is hotter if they're in the same room. He gravitated toward the hottest girl at Impulse and the only thing that trumps that is if there's a group of three or more reasonably attractive girls. It's not a stupid strategy to do what he's doing at a bar or a party, you want the hottest chick you can get. Herein lies the problem.

You or I can tell when a girl is interested or totally not interested but unwilling to be impolite and hoping you'll take subtle hints. Mainly though chris doesn't get it whena tipsy 21 yr old college girls are just giggling cuz the guy that approached them is entertainingly weird. All of these scenarios register as genuinely interest to him. And he gravitated toward the hottest one or largest group til he gets shut out for good. His standards are probably going up if anything, because hot college chicks and milfs are willing to talk to him. He'd totally ignore an average chick who was actually interested in him for a group of young hot girls who just wanted him to act weird for their own amusement. He seriously thought those burlesque girls were into him. He thinks he's hot shit right now and has options.

A Tumblr SJW of low intelligence, borderline sociopathic, who is into crossdressers and doesn't mind hygiene problems because her own residence is down in the dumps.

"How likely to exist?"
Probably more likely than many of us think.

Oh boy. This whole tomgirl/Impulse thing really isn't going to end well, is it? I never thought I'd write this, but, I really hope Chris-Tran never finds out the hawt girls at Impulse make nice to him because they want to get laughs out of the weirdo. Then again, maybe it would at least cure him of that "all girls are sweet and caring" fixation he's been laboring under since Patti was a pup.

Naw. Who am I kidding?

I don't think he'll ever come to that conclusion. At best, I can see him still clinging to "All girls are sweet and caring" while still acknowledging that one or two or eight or fifty girls were the exception to the rule. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER. BECAUSE ALL GIRLS ARE SWEET AND CARING.

My sentiments exactly. I think Chris is desperatly searching for a sweetheart not because he craves affection, but out of self-preservation. Let's face it, when Barb passes away, he's fucked. He needs someone to pamper him, coddle him and above all enable his shitty lifestyle. He needs a Barb 2.0, and he'd rather have a navy-receptacle than a caretaker. Wasn't it during the Catherine saga that he said "MY MOTHER WON'T BE AROUND FOREVER I NEED A SWEETHEART !" or something along those lines ?

It must be very strange being Chris, just totally unable to comprehend that other people have their own feelings and motivations that are every bit as real as his own. I suppose the equivalent for the average person would be if their stuff just started moving about on its own one day.

I mean, he really comes across here like a person trying to fix a faulty appliance. "Sure, she's saying we're not in a relationship, but if I say we are, then she'll believe it... what? Okay, I'll tell her that I deserve a relationship... that didn't work? Okay, I'll ask her to empathise with me... oh wait, I see my mistake, it's letting her reply to me. I'll tell her not to, then... what? She's still not going to be my sweetheart! MOOOOOOM!"

I think it's more of a both/and situation. Fatty complains about how lonely he is and how he's going to need a new mommy in fairly equal measures.

I don't think Chris doesn't recognise the difference between friendship and romance. It's just that he adamantly wants the latter and sees the former as nothing more than a stepping stone to it.

It all ties back to his unbelievably autistic vidya inspired interpretation of how interacting with other people works. It all goes back to the same old "levelling up" analogy.

If guys with Asperger syndrome* manage to get into relationships more, I could see another reason why Chris would probably hate on the syndrome.
*I'm aware of the DSM-5 change, but symptoms of people who are diagnosed with Asperger syndrome can differ from "classic" autism. For example, a delay in speech - one criteria for Asperger Syndrome is no significant delay in speech, while "God put the mute button" on Chris until Barb coaxed him into talking with Gobots toys.

Not only that, but there are more differences between HFA and Aspergers that probably would make Chris hate 'spergs even more.
Further differences in features between people with high-functioning autism and those with Asperger syndrome include the following:[2][6][7][8]

  • People with HFA have a lower verbal intelligence quotient
  • Better visual/spatial skills (higher performance IQ) than people with Asperger syndrome
  • Less deviating locomotion than people with Asperger syndrome
  • People with HFA more often have problems functioning independently
  • Curiosity and interest for many different things, in contrast to people with Asperger syndrome
  • People with Asperger syndrome are better at empathizing with another
  • The male to female ratio of 4:1 for HFA is much smaller than that of Asperger syndrome

Very astute. Even if Chris were able to find someone--even if it required tremendous self-awareness and self-improvement from our lovelorn friend--the odds are nearly nil he can find anyone who matches up to the Attraction Sign criteria (or whatever delusional metric he's applying).

How sad that OPL would certainly reject those women that would both understand and care for him the most.

Would he? He went on a date with the hambeast and didn't seem phased by it. Kacey wasn't the most traditionally attractive girl either.

Lipitor tells us he gravitated towards the more attractive women at Impulse. That's certainly an interesting piece of info, but I don't know if it means he would reject someone less attractive if she were legitimately interested.

I do see that if he keeps punching above his weight, it might prevent him from meeting less attractive girls. There is only so much time he has at Impulse and most women would be put off by being an obvious second - or tenth- choice. So in a world where he was capable of being with a 4, but not an 8 or 9, he might miss some opportunities at 4's. But if the 4 approached him and made her interest very clear, I don't see Chris rejecting her. Maybe if she fits into one of his precisely defined dealbreakers. Black, smoker, has kids, etc. But not because she is chubby or poor.

Hambeast and Kacey aren't people who would have him; that's why he's not with them.

I'm saying that the people that would have Chris aren't people Chris would have in return.
Hambeast wouldn't have him, so she left and never looked back.
Kacey doesn't count, she's a troll. But, still, she's not here today.
