Same thing with communists that claim that communism never has been tried because those who attempted communism didn't go far enough. That they were subverted by capitalists.

Libertarian capitalists make a similar argument, that real capitalism has never been tried. But at least those people have the benefit that half-assed capitalism works better than any attempt at socialism whatsoever, and even the Mises Institute points this out.

I graduated last December, and I can definitely say there was a massive sense of leftist identity politics at almost every level, starting when my transfer welcoming events put a lot of emphasis on privilege and oppression, plus the rampant presence of Marxist organizations advertising and meeting while the CGOP and Right to Life Groups were liable to get any posters torn down within hours. And, of course, the College President celebrated the Chauvin Show trial and encouraged the canonization of St. Floyd. There are more stories from the academic side, but I can't remember as many right now.
