Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

I'm still pretty hesitant but, like, why would not show this trailer before showing Aonuma fumbling around like a bozo? It felt way more confident and exciting, and like there was actually things to see.

It's not a weird decision. It fits perfectly with their vision for Breath of the Wild. When people say they want Dark Souls with easy mode and Breath of the Wild but without all that foraging and crafting and survival stuff, good game designers know better than to listen.
Good game designers wouldn't have made BotW in the first place.

Metacritic, game sales hell the very continued existence of the Switch says otherwise.
Come on, you know that means nothing about quality. The game was boring and felt like a beta they accidentally shipped without content and they probably shit themselves before realizing everybody liked it.

Bad games can get good scores. A huge game from a major publisher getting universal acclaim and 95+ Metacritic after literally everyone reviews it? No, its great.

Yes yes, you've made your hatred of the game well-known at this point. I'll just spare everyone a long essay and state that I wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment for the hundredth time. No need to be a party pooper here.

Though I guess if you were looking for a whole brand new revolutionary game with TOTK, you won't find it here. But for people like me who loved the original, this looks to be a refinement of that game, which is reason enough to be excited.

Didn't TLOU2 do that? I'm glad people like it but I'd have absolutely believed it was unfinished if I worked at Nintendo and came to check on it.

"Wow this is coming along great guys! We've got a great skeleton for a game here. When are we adding dungeons, enemy variety, interesting events in the map, good stuff to explore for instead of just trash items and seeds, and polishing this atrocious weapon system?"

If you guys want only positive posts then I'll try. I think the music was an improvement, I don't remember there even being music in BotW.

I mean, there were all the many different puzzles in the world and shrines, the multiple ways to approach each enemy encounters, how the Guardians require entirely different tactics from Bokoblins and vice-versa, all the landmarks and different biomes that the world had, more things to find such as the giant mazes, Eventide Island, the dragons, the towns, challenges that lead to shrines, the memory flashbacks, new outfits, the Great Fairies, etc. Plus by the end, I no longer had any problems with the weapon system.

TOTK looks to both expand and improve on all that.

You can have your opinions on the game, negative or positive. That's not going to stop me and others from wholly disagreeing with you, and you're free to disagree with us as well.

And for the record, I found what music there was in BOTW to be very fitting to the atmosphere that it was going for.

There definitely seems to be some kind of callback to Twilight Princess, between the theme creeping in and all the glowy circuitry shit in the logo's artwork. Maybe all that new floaty land is from the twilight world or something, dunno. In any event, Ganon's DBZ scream at the end of the trailer amused me immensely.
Isn't that more of a continuation of Breath of the Wild? All that stuff was there. I don't know it looked great so whatever.

The "no fun" brigade is trying hard today though. Let's give them a round of applause for their efforts and screenshot their bullshittery.

The trailer looks fantastic but i am still somewhat wary about the game, since BOTW also had a bitching trailer, but a lot of things ended up feeling like false advertisement in a way, like how most cutscenes were just flashbacks, and how the music didn't even show up in the game. I at least hope there is a companion mechanic that isn't linked to just dungeons/story moments.
