Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Yeah, I thought so too but the Zelda text box specifically is giving me pause
Hopefully you're right though
Yeah the textbox is funky. That one has a chance of actually bein that bad but I don't think so. Like, they did it well with BOTW:

And we have seen how it looks on the gameplay:

The best part here about being disappointed by Breath of the Wild is how I no longer give a fuck about foreknowledge of the next game. So, are there real dungeons? I don't want the specific puzzles revealed to me, but that's about all I care.

Ganondorf is the previous king of Hyrule's corpse corrupted by Calamity Ganon. The king weakens Ganon just enough to make it possible for you defeat him. After defeating him, the king is just barely able to tell Zelda he loves her through the defeated Ganon before finally dying.

So there are seven dungeons?

And they're like actually dungeons, not just slightly bigger shrines with 3 puzzles like the Devine beasts?

please tell me they got rid of shrines and actually designed full dungeons

Game cutscenes have been leaked.

Nope. Shrines are still a thing but in the sky.

According to the game files
There are at least six dungeons labeled with "Large", including Hyrule Castle, and is seemingly based on the elements for the most part.

Alright you pricks, I played through the first 'dungeon'. It's more divine beast garbage except with a different maguffin instead of terminals. The boss fight was unique though, pretty fun except it was piss easy, never even took damage. No dungeons, looks like only 4 of them again, unless more are revealed after you complete the first set, no items, more shrines, more koroks. If you didn't like Botw then you won't like this.

Shrines are still around, there are fewer visible in the world because of the sky stuff, not sure how many there actually are, same garbage over, do the thing, get the orb, power up health or stamina. There are caves and the like which are similar to Elden Ring caves, don't know if they have any puzzles, just seemed like enemies and resources from the few I did.

You unlock the abilities at the start again in the tutorial area, but there are 2 slots left. The banjo kazooie thing is more annoying than fun, they just throw parts all over the map in random piles and all but force you to build stuff. The building is really clunky and takes more time that just finding another solution.

The music is better, still too minimalist for my taste, a lot is re-used, but the dungeon seemed unique, as I unlocked more 'terminals' it became more complex. The boss music was pretty good, used the theme from the BotW trailer.

The dungeon was all Zonai themed though, like the shrines and like all the sky ruins. Seems like the other 'dungeons' will be the same, it was at least a set-piece though

Also lore fags are BTFO again, they threw everything that was 'established' in botw out, brand new backstory, brand new history. The story seems like its just a copy of Skyward Sword though, chasing Zelda around, and there is time travel bullshit.

Go ahead and ask away, I'll try and stay away from spoilers out of courtesy, but if you want spoiler questions I'll spoiler tag them.

Oh yeah performance, its ugly 900p that goes down to 720p or below, there are massive lag spikes down to 15fps in the open world, using the master hand seems to drop the fps consistently.

Pretty much from what I've played so far, it doesn't seem even close to being worth 70 dollars, but there is enough 'new' to be its own game. The layout of the overworld is still the same, but they changed a lot of the paths and structure, landmarks staying the same. It's still not a Zelda game, and its still Breath of the Wild.

When you get a chance, I want to know about the towns/villages: bustling with people or barren, side-quests, any little details you might find interesting. Is there house building/town building like in the last game?

okay, so almost exactly as expected
grrreat :suffering:
I shall now vanish from this thread because I Do Not Care that much about Zelda, but I am in fact quite mad that Nintendo is once again fucking with their prices for no good reason other than greed and everyone will suck their dick for it anyways
adios
I am really sorry for the fans in this thread, hopefully there are some decent fan projects/surprise announcements to help make up for this soon

There are a lot more NPCs around, I didn't go to any towns other than the Rito Village (which is the exact same, no new NPCs) and the base camp outside Hyrule castle. Seems like there are more sidequests but from the few I picked up they seem pretty menial, like deliver this item, etc. The locations I went to had NPCs, but they were just standing around, not really doing anything. I will probably head to Kakariko or Hateno and see if they have changed, but I'm taking a break for now. I didn't find what I played to be that fun. There are NPCs that hang around points of interest like caves and stuff, they don't really do anything but give you tips.

Did they at least add more enemies or make them more interesting to fight? Or is it just a shit ton of Bokoblins with only a handful of new enemies who are just as easy to dispatch?

Also is this actually all there is to the game's sky map?

Most of the new enemies fight the exact same as bokoblins. The map looks accurate, but there are smaller islands that dont appear on the map. I brought my laptop down since I'm playing on the big TV so I can update more often. There is more collect the backstory cutscene thing, seems like they refused to change anything from BotW.

Apparently the leaker used his fucking university hosting to upload and share it. To the dipshit from Central Piedmont Community College that didn't use Anonfiles, enjoy expulsion and courtroom asspacking.

Unless something fundamentally changes at the halfway point, this game seems to literally just be the same as BotW, I'm not seeing these things nintendo were 'hiding' that would suddenly make this the best game ever made. Maybe that's still here, but I'm not seeing it. They didn't even change anything from BotW, not even the stuff people hated like the flashbacks and the weapon durability.

They also moved all the quick teleport shrines next to villages or stables to be in really annoying places to get to or leave from. They also learned nothing from Elden Ring and you still can't pick up items while on a horse.

So far I've done the Rito dungeon and now I'm at the Zora's Domain. These pre-dungeon setups seem to be extremely formulaic. Town in danger because of ruins from sky, do thing to get attention from town, go find important person outside of town, go with important person to 'dungeon', do 'dungeon', get person's summon. So far Zora's domain is the exact same as the Rito village one, and I can see the Goron and Gerudo ones being the same as well. Not a good sign.
