Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Now I wanna know if that that new grounds game where midna jerks off link is nintendo approved
Oh, you bet it is. Once that copyright hammer goes down, it belongs to them now.

I don't just limit myself to push ups, I do 300lb box squats to perfect my teabagging technique
I'll take your word for it, friend.

It is indeed the official manga licensed by Nintendo.
It obviously takes some liberties over the source material but it was an enjoyable read
The manga even added a moment where Midna kisses Link before she breaks the mirror. Honestly, at the risk of sounding insane, I was really happy to see that happen, as I always thought those two had good chemistry together.

Though, now with them both separated, I'm now imagining this song playing over all their moments the manga added. XD

Does anyone else think it's a huge missed opportunity that Nintendo never did a Metroid: Zero Mission style remake of the original Legend of Zelda for GBA?

I wouldn't trade Minish Cap for it, but that was actually developed by Capcom, it's weird that Nintendo themselves never made an in house developed GBA Zelda.

Not really. There's a reason that the Zelda 1 remake turned into the Oracle games.

There isn't enough substance to Zelda 1 to remake it on a system that already has a better 2D Zelda available. GBC had Links Awakening, GBA had Link to the Past.

There reaches a point where you realize "This doesn't have enough, we have to add more." but then you add so much more it's an entirely different game so you might as well make it a new game. Metroid 1 would have faced a similar situation had Super Metroid been on GBA I think, and I'd argue the only reason the game got away with adding so much more to the original is the gap between releases at that point.

Zelda 2 would have been the far better game to remake, but everyone would have bitched and moaned even more at that point.

I just hope BotW2 isn't shit like BotW. I hope they at least continue the "2D" Zeldas if they stick with that shit for 3D forever.

Zelda 2 and the Oracle duology could stand to be remade, I'd like that too. Oracle is practically guaranteed, but I think Miyamoto (rightly) hates Zelda 2 so we might have to wait for him to retire for that one.

A remake of the Oracle games in the style of LA Switch would be nice, but I like them as-is.

It would have been really really nice if they had included them on that Zelda Game & Watch, in place of Link's Awakening black and white in three extra languages. Fuckin' Nintendo, man.

I disagree, from what I've played of the NES original, spruced up graphics and a little expansion would make for a perfectly solid little game.

I've since learned they DID make a remake of Zelda 1 for the Satellaview, looking at screens of that is eerie close to what I had in my mind's eye, so there was already some precedence.

I just think it's a shame there wasn't any other NES GBA remake than Zero Mission, would have been cool to see something else.

BotW is a solid 10/10 for me. Near fucking perfection as both an open world game and as a Zelda game. People who shit on it are just psueds

Still a year away till BOTW2. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it.

Thinking back to Skyward Sword, that game actually had a bit of a rocky development. A lot of the development at the beginning was marred with disagreements between Aonuma and Miyamoto in regards to the controls, as they couldn't seem to come to a consensus on how they should be implemented. By the time full production was in swing, there was only a year and a half before it launched, and even then, it was filled with conflict over the design, setting, art style, and more, to the point that many elements were cut from the final build (all the ground sections were supposed to be connected for just one example).

Still, I don't think the game was bad, just underwhelming. In many ways, it could be seen as a prototype for what BOTW would become.
