Nah, pretty sure they'll just keep pissing and shitting and trying to convince themselves this is the greatest thing ever made and that we're all taking crazy pills and can't see all the new and exciting "experiences" this game provides.

Why are you so invested in mocking and crushing other people's anticipation of the game? It's starting to reek of sour grapes of some form.

that's the thing, they are "opinions."

Opinions are based on what people observe and how they correlate it with what they know. Some people see the trailer, see that there is zero information on game components expected of literally any game, and conclude that there must be a significant number of things deliberately being hidden in order for the player to discover on their own. That conclusion is reinforced by seeing the developers of the pervious game talk excitedly about how they designed things to surprise and wow the player, and even years later people are discovering little game elements that weren't publicly discussed before. Other people, potentially people who cannot imagine what it would be like if they didn't have breakfast this morning, see what was and wasn't shown and cannot even fathom the idea of there being more, presumably because they expect every important part of a game to be spoon fed to them with a little airplane the moment they learn about the game. They cannot fathom the idea that other people may be extrapolating things further then they are capable of, and so feel like they must shit on those people to feel equal.

I’ve seen this exact same thing play out a billion times over. They’ll soy out for months, constantly hyping the game up, treating it like it’s the second coming of Christ, then the game finally launches, and they’ll somehow have already beaten it after just a few days, only to never talk about it again. It’s always been weird (and suspiciously shilly) how they never seem to take it all in, embrace the new environments and adventure they had been obsessing over, and then just launch the fucking game into the ocean the second they see credits rolling. Like the most purest version of consooming product, and then getting excited for next products.

I don't know how anyone can enjoy their games that way. I would have hated Breath of the Wild if I had to rush through the whole thing in a couple of days. It is a game best enjoyed by just relaxing and picking a random direction and saying "let's see what's over there". Of course, the soy's retort is always "JUST LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS!!!", but if you treated food that way, just scarfing down an expensive steak as fast as possible without savoring it, taking in the taste and texture, but just shoving the damn thing down your throat at record speeds, you may as well just have... well, soylent. Or those nutrition bars made out of bug protein, or whatever's the most joyless sustenance you can find, to help you optimize the time you save. You're clearly not embracing the steak you're fortunate enough to have, you seem to be more into the idea of being perceived as a person who's excited about the steak, and when it's finally presented to you, you want to get done with it as quickly as possible.

Honestly if you think you won't like the game, you could always just... ignore the thread discussing the game, instead of trooning out on the people who recognize that there is likely surprises in store. Assuming you already know everything about something that isn't out yet just smacks of stupidity

This thread is for discussing current and future Zelda games. It's not for feeding fragile egos that desperately rely on belittling other's emotional investments for subsistence.

I'm not going to soy-shill for TotK because it's not going to be the best game evarrr, Sekiro is, but I am going to enjoy it over the next year with the 300 hours I'll autistically dump into it, painstakingly scouring every nook and cranny. I look forward to seeing people shit all over it because I find that funny, and it doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the game.
