As far as I know, most of the worst translation drama with Treehouse seems to happen with Fire Emblem (a series I tried to avoid), but I think BotW had some weird translation choices too, particularly one line Kilton has when he tells you about his monster money:I'm curious about thst possibility now, they do purposefully screw with games that way.
@BananaSplit² If you playthe BotW DLCTotK maybe you can address this at some point.
Kilton in Treehouse Translation said:Mon is a currency I invented to destabilize the market and fight the establishment! Just kidding, there is no establishment in Hyrule! I just love monsters so much that I turned them into money!
Kilton in Japanese said:Mamo is a currency I invented that can only be used at my store.
This article from 2018 has them state that BotW takes place at the end of the timeline:If that was their exact phrasing (I didn't pay attention to anything surrounding BotW) then it just sounds like an immense amount of time has passed since those games and/or history has been lost for some reason (some kind of disaster).
These libtards really can't help but push and push. I wonder if Nintendo of Japan has any idea this kind of shit happens or if they just allow it. What's the conversation like if there's oversight? "Oh hey Miyamaoto chan, yeah, we just wanna add this sort of commie politics shit in your family friendly game just a little, is that okay?"As far as I know, most of the worst translation drama with Treehouse seems to happen with Fire Emblem (a series I tried to avoid), but I think BotW had some weird translation choices too, particularly one line Kilton has when he tells you about his monster money:
Even though I didn't play BotW and don't see myself playing TotK any time soon I've been avoiding spoilers, but generally speaking what does TotK do to that effect? I know there's some time travel shit going on but I'm curious what happens.TotK just makes any possibility of trying to connect them impossible and irrelevant, and I'm half expecting a lot of lorefags on youtube to start jumping through hoops to try and explain it.
Why do you think Nintendo force the Mario movie team to burn the tapes and rewrite a good portion of it?These libtards really can't help but push and push. Are there many people like that? I've only seen the lore autists, not the people you're describing.I think it goes both ways. People ravenously hating anyone paying any degree of attention to anything going on between the games are just as bad (or worse) than the autists poring over map data between games for any hint of a correlation.

It's also just retarded. I don't see why the timeline is so special or important to these people. Zelda doesn't have a working timeline, so what? The games are still good, that doesn't change.Agreed
I call lorefags retards because they end up just dominating discussion with fucking headcanon bullshit that isn't even creative or interesting. It's basically what pulled me out of Zelda tbqh.
But I'm not going to get super mad over it. I'll just call them retards and be on my way.
Because it's the sunken-cost fallacy in motion to them; plus, some of them are actual spergs with unsupervised internet access.I don't see why the timeline is so special or important to these people
Pretty sure. It's whole thing was you were only allowed to use what you can find on the island. Was Eventide Island the only part in BOTW that temporarily takes away your inventory? I've done a few shrines in TOTK which do it and there's also at least one sidequest which does it.
I honestly liked the concept of an open world Zelda game, even with how barren BOTW is and how TOTK is an borderline cash grab. So far, it's an idea that technically should be impossible to screw up; but both times, it feels that the devs are playing it an little bit too safe.I do wonder if the divide between those who love the new Zelda direction like me, and those who prefer the older style of the previous 3D titles is only gonna increase with both TOTK and any future installments
To be fair, that's pretty funny. I remember being amused by it when I read it.I think BotW had some weird translation choices too, particularly one line Kilton has when he tells you about his monster money
Everyone on Ryujinx is having random crash issues. Seems to be totally random and updates to the emulator haven't fixed it.I said "fuck it" and went for the Ryujinx emulator. Just unlocked the first tower outside of Hyrule Castle.
Does the game crash around every 10-20 minutes for anybody else? Thank Christ for the autosave.
Are there any hints to where the other two shrines are on that island?I must be doing something very wrong because I've been ditzing around on the Great Sky Island for a long time now, and I've only done two shrines, but also am doing a bunch of DIY mine cart + fan tracks now to get around this island and it sucks. Did I accidentally stumble into doing stuff meant for later in the game? I sure am sick of having three hearts and minimal stamina.
There was only two or three (or four, I wasn't counting) times where I had to use the mine carts to get to the shrines. I couldn't find where to go for the snow mountain at one point, so I somehow climbed up a slick wall a good bit of the way there and barely made it.I must be doing something very wrong because I've been ditzing around on the Great Sky Island for a long time now, and I've only done two shrines, but also am doing a bunch of DIY mine cart + fan tracks now to get around this island and it sucks. After you complete the first shrine, you'll be advised to look through your scope and mark the Shrines glowing green in the distance. One's to the left and the other is to the right. Are there any hints to where the other two shrines are on that island?
