Back on Echoes of Wisdom, I still insist it's everything BotW and TotK were trying to be, and it actually succeeded to some degree. There were puzzles whose intended solutions I'd never found, because I was in the habit of solving such puzzles completely differently, and I never even noticed the intended solutions. Unlike TotK, I never felt like I was merely breaking the puzzle before moving on. They should find a way to apply these lessons to future games.
The menus sucked, however. The Legend of Zelda games used to be more action-oriented, but now the difference between Metroid and any recent Zelda game is night and day, because of all the fucking menus.
