Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Zelda 2 is nothing like Castlevania 2. It's a poorly done Ultima clone where they tried to make it more actiony.
I meant like Castlevania II in that's a sequel that tries to do something completely different and is better with things like save states.

It sounds much like Castlevania II where they got a little too weird and out there.
Also like Castlevania II, it's a game only "playable" if you know how to play it: Guide Games on Steroids.

It's not Minecraft, but I've loaded up CVII only once in my life, and the fact that you're plopped into the world like that with no knowledge and you have to git gud to succeed... Christ.

You know BOTW could have went down this road, but those pop-up tutorials.

I honestly don't see how Zelda 2 is any more guide game than Zelda 1 tbqh.

Zelda 1 had some real bullshitty stuff with having to light bushes on fire and finding snack meat for moblin guards and shit.
None of that Zelda 1 autism beats the 'tism of a old man commanding you to "Give your money or your life."

What were they thinking with that?

I've read the thread and I was gonna say, I don't like SS, not because it tried to be not OoT, but because I've never been able to give a damn for Motion Controls outside of Trauma Center and Pikmin. I think Miyamoto only sabotaged things being trying to make everyone share his autistic love for the thing.

Edit: As for OoT, the one thing I still want from it is any dungeons and mechanics that were intended for it and currently the dudes doing the decomp are busy recreating the Spaceworld 97 demo.

"grumble grumble"

Don't forget "I AM ERROR"
A guy literally tells you to go find Error to access Island Palace so I don't see what's so wrong with a guy telling you who he is...

I'm just saying, some people seem to over hate AoL as much as some people over love OoT. I get that Nintendo fans hate hard stuff now, but really it's no more cryptic than most games at the time, it's faults lie in being balls hard, restarting you at the very start of the map and resetting your EXP more than anything.

Sometimes I think I might be the only guy who liked Skyward Sword. Not just in weird internet places either, it's generally people's least favorite 3D Zelda. I thought it was really fun. The dungeons were fantastic and I liked how I liked how they used the the motion controls for things beyond pointing or waggling (though I appreciate the pointing). I genuinely enjoyed the motion swordplay and that remote control bug. The overworld is definitely lacking though. The sky area is a glorified level select and the ground overworld areas are essentially just dungeons themselves. It was weird going into Breath of the Wild after that and having the exact opposite problem.

I didn't even try to play it because I was busy at the time and generally people told me it was no good.

I'm planning on picking it up to finally try on Switch. Although after dusting off my JoyCons after not using them for over a year I've found that the drift has somehow gotten ridiculously bad. Do these things just deteriorate even without use?

Have they said if you can just swing the Pro controller instead or what?

Skyward Sword just was a slower Ocarina of time, you not only need to wait for an opening, but the enemies need a tell, make a pose and then stand still for seconds at a time to get cutting angles right, it does not help that most enemies are piss easy to boot.
And the general handholding and repitition of bosses.

A Zelda game where Link and Ganon become bro rivals while local deities are acting like huge cunts because "nooo you can't break the prophecy, you're supposed to take down the bearer of the triforce of power" would be a refreshing idea imo.
A game where you play as Ganon trying to break the cycle of prophecy and death sounds good actually.

LZe This needs to be a game.jpg

Bagu tells you to go find error, and their names were meant to compliment each other, except the joke was lost because Bagu is supposed to be "bug", but came out wrong because Japanese.

Bug & Error.

True, though I will say that it has the best water temple and lanyru desert was cool.

I can personally tell you Nintendo faggots on Gamefaqs and Gamespot told me this was the worst fucking idea ever around 2003.
Fucking why? I'd think Nintendo faggots would love the idea. Fuck sakes, early 2000's were the perfect time for dumb edgelord shit so Ganon being the protagonist would be perfect.
