Oh good god, come off it. "Body shaming" is yet another term that once upon a time had some actual validity but has now been beaten to death and rendered into a useless joke by people like Lena. How the hell are you gonna get mad at people "shaming" you when you choose to go about in the world looking like THAT? No one is forcing you to look like Jaba the Hut doing a cameo on Trailer Park Boys, you've done that all your self. Especially when you have unlimited time and financial resources and, thus access to any type of health or personal care you could dream of. Absolutely, she somehow gets a pass for the things she did as a kid, as it's not just normal for kids to explore theirs and others' bodies, she particularly grew up in an environment that screamed "sexual molestation" to anyone who's not a deviant.

But as an adult, there is the need for consequences.

Even if we claim the adult she is is the result of the kid she was, she just can't walk free from it. A kid who was raped and later rapes as an adult is not spared from jail because of the sad story. I rewatched the movie this weekend, which I hadn't watch in a while. It's quite "ok" for an indie movie of the type, but it's not the masterpiece some people claim it is.

Important points:

The father is absent in the movie. It's just Aura (Lena) living with her mom and sister Nadine in NY. There is no mention of the father either, only about the mom's past boyfriends when she was young. Lena has another movie where the protagonist also lives only with the mom and sister.

Aura sees the pristine and organised sister as the "odd" one. At some point, she steals the spotlight from Aura when Aura gets some minor job and Nadine earns some important high school award. The mom also thinks Nadine can be obnoxious about her achievements.

Of course, Aura has sex with the hot dude who looks like Pewdiepie, not the lazy hipster played by Alex Karpovsky that her friend set her up with. Her whole career is about making her characters fuck the hot dudes she could never fuck in real life.

Sharp Stick is from 2022 and it was poorly rated (less than 5 on IMDB).

This is the movie I mentioned above with the protagonist living only with the mom and the sister, exactly like Tiny Furniture. So, the protagonist is Lena. If she had been younger, she'd be the one playing the main role and having sex with a lot of guys instead.

Just read the synopsis. Protagonist comes from a broken home and she had some trauma after a surgery left her barren when they remove her uterus (jee, this reminds me of something...) Lena claims pornography is liberating, but this is like saying that if you got severely abused and start to do drugs to cope, drugs are liberating and healing. I really don't think Lena understands what those words mean.
