Don't take it personally, this community is deeply sardonic and snarky about pretty much everything. Visitors related (by blood or connections) to "lolcows" sometimes get taken aback with what passes as normal here.

edit: Just to make an example, it's a safe bet that a lot of people here think being extremely fascinated with trains is "weird". A lot of these people also think that dressing up in animal costumes and playing pretend is "weird", but I get along just fine with everyone even if I have to take it on the chin sometimes. Good evening Kiwis! Wow, things have certainly gotten busy in the last 36 hours, time flies when you do nothing but work. This forum is part of the reason I don't own a smartphone, all of the stuff on here, I'd be glued to the phone and never get anything done.

Anyhow, it appears we've caught us a Shaner, well Len, welcome to the farms! Glad to have you, please verify who you are with one of the mods and join in! We'd be more than happy to here what you have to say about all this. With so much information going back so far, some clarity would be welcome (although I personally very much doubt your ability to clarify much of anything).

ATTENTION FOAMERS and normal railfans!!! (Especially Foamers, and you know who you are) This is not, repeat NOT a train forum. I will occasionally input some "technical" information here to clarify a point, or to make Shaner look foolish, nothing more. This thread is about Shaner becoming (being) a cow. If you have stories and/or information regarding Shaner and his lunacy, great. If you want to hash it out with Shaner about him "stealing" your pictures and videos, stuff it, no one here gives two flying shits. If you want to argue with other Foamers on here about train shit, stuff it, no one but you gives two flying shits. If you do persist in being foamy, and refuse to abide by the codes set here, you'll be classed as a cow as well, and well... you see what happens then.

P.S. As a relative newbie to the farms myself, I do not want to overstep any boundaries with this post. I simply don't want to see this thread descend into foamerdom. This thread is a source of high amusement to me after a long work day.

It's a good general rule that the subject of the thread is the lolcow, not whatever they're obsessed with. Usually the person is considered a joke specifically because of the laughable way they're obsessed with whatever it is, so being just as obsessive is doing the same thing they are.

We make fun of a lot of people, including each other. That's just the kind of place it is. If you can stand some ribbing and some honest criticism it's pretty fun, otherwise you might want to stick to Facebook.

Second - and this is directed at all of our newcomers, and is strictly my opinion - why the fuck are you arguing with Shaner?! He's trying to get a rise out of you. He made all those pages to troll you. When you respond you are playing his game with him, and he is getting off on it (figuratively, possibly literally). I get that he's saying mean things about you and the Colebrookdale railroad, but he's also very obviously crazy. Speaking as an outsider, if I went looking for the Colebrookdale facebook page and came across 5 different pages knocking Colebrookdale, all written by someone with ridiculously poor grammar and spelling, I would assume some paranoid schizo decided to turn his crazy on you. If I looked further and saw representatives and volunteers of Colebrookdale engaging with him, only then would I be suspicious - why are they engaging with this crazy guy unless there's something to his craziness? Don't they know how to internet?

So yes, you do come off looking stupid, but that's easily remedied - stop fucking arguing with a 50-year-old basement-dwelling autist. If you feel you must, put a note on your site stating (in very calm and mature language) that you're aware there's a gentleman trying to imitate Colebrookdale and you are currently seeking civil remedies or whatever. But don't let him troll you.

I would point out that since his banning, "Lenny" has been quite scarce, and finding him to actually confront him is actually a bit of a challenge. I (as well as everyone else) know exactly where he lives, but he's really not worth talking to in person. I don't "confront" Shaner on his pages, because I don't feel the need to grace those pages with my presence. Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson once said "Your drill ground should be your battle ground" and I rather agree with that, I refuse to engage him where he has a degree of control, i.e. his pages. Here, he has no control, and the one, possibly two, friends he has left in this world won't be able to help him here. And Shaner, since I know you're reading this ( <--- see that? proper use of "you're"), you can drop all the pretenses at being Erica, or Lisa, or whoever that erratic misfiring hunk of machinery you refer to as a brain says you are this evening. the Jester, I think you are missing the point, by engaging him on his pages, you simply give him ammunition. By engaging him here, he just sits, stews and fumes about what is going on.

This site is specifically for our own amusement, and to a degree, his annoyance (and it would seem that it is working). We aren't going to "Take Shaner DOWN!" or anything like that, he'll do it all on his own. Read some of the other threads on here, there are quite a few more than our beloved trainwreck of a lolcow. Once you've kind of felt your way around, you'll get used to things on here, or you'll find it distasteful, and at that point what you do is up to you.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Those of us who have a personal stake in this, are going to be rather prickly about what goes on here. I get it (and I love it), but I can't say the same for some of my railroading comrades. All I can say is to the Kiwis, cut them just a bit of slack at first, they're pretty mad about this whole stupid situation. For some of them, the Shaner trouble goes back a decade or more, so, you can understand the rage.

To my railroading comrades, seriously, just sit back and watch. Contribute if you can, and for fucks sake, don't start mouthing off at the Kiwis. This is THEIR forum, not ours, let them work their magic.

Engaging Leonard past posts on this forum is pointless. There's no point to really arguing with him at all. For all the people who are from the rail road and are getting all amped up that your favorite person has gained attention on a larger scale just relax. He's obviously mentally ill so he's deluded beyond reason. You won't get him to admit anything and he'll just keep doing stuff to get a rise out of you.

Just take solace that he's a 50 year old guy, who never moved out of his mom's house, spends his days impotently flailing around on Facebook, and is banned from so many places he has to sneak around to enjoy his trains.
