I'm leaning toward what @Vitriol said about borderline retardation, but @The Lizard Queen 's FAS theory is entirely plausible, too. He may not be autistic per se, but it's clear Len has some sort of mental impairment in addition to being really, really dumb. They way he spells is much like how a child would sound out a word (e.g., "qualfide"), which could suggest a learning disability. & remember how he was held back for two years in high school?
