You know, given all the recent lawyer talk, I don't think Shaner lacks a lawyer because he's actually planning on representing himself. I think he's hiding from the issue. He's trying desperately to ignore it, and part of that is not getting a lawyer, because then he'd have to actually talk about what was going on. That's why he's so angry with us - we're constantly reminding him that he has an upcoming trial, and all his grandstanding and tough-guy act can't make it go away. He's going to have to face consequences - serious consequences - for all his mistakes. And the thought of that terrifies Leonard F. Shaner.
