Little update Found a video that does the Kill em all route(Yes people have made videos of this game Despite it being such a niche of a niche) , turns out the "boss battle" happens no matter what, but only makes any real sense IMO when going the good route.

Ao Oni R Episode 10: "puppets" and Puzzles.
Time to show off another one of those weird spots the AI just stops working.
As long as you stand here or in the door way the AI bugs out an wont murder you.
I'll like to point out.
THE FIRST FUCKING VERSION OF AO ONI DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. If you remember in that version, if the Ao oni spawns ontop of you, you die.
How I feel about the Oni AI sometimes.
You know looking at the lyrics weirdly fit the Oni from 6.23 onwards, and some fangames at times.

We also steal a lightbulb for no reason.
Keep in mind this door was locked.
Think about this. They went ahead of us last time we met them, AND LOCKED THIS DOOR FROM THE INSIDE.
I bet it was Mika's idea, Anna is too nice to want to do this to Heroshi.
Anna also says something about not giving up or something, and if we talk to her she said something about fearing she going to die or something.
Look I was starting to zone out around this point, but what matters is FUCK MIKA, ANNA THE BETTER GIRL.
In the other room we get a reason why the noose is set up here.
Okay seriously why is the oni magic censoring oni word. I can't see any reason why any one other then the oni would tamper with this suicide note.
That wont stop the oni from nibbing on your butt cheek.

FUN FACT TIME. These "dolls" are just civilian kid sprites that comes with this version of RPG maker.
It's a nice use of premade assets.
Fireplace looks nice, I wouldn't be surprised if this also came with the engine.

Ao Oni R Episode 11: Off The Rails.
We are getting close to ending act 2(Annx Building section of the game) soon. And let me tell you, the game starts to go off the rails a bit starting here as we learn even more about the location, the oni, and backstory of someone. Sit tight because this might be the longest update screenshot count wise for this whole thread.
The lab is just repurpose, and slightly expanded version of the same area in 6.23
Thankfully the first room has the power breaker.
This is a very fun, short and sweet puzzle. Just pick the right order for the grids so the end line looks like the one on the note.
It was 3 1 2 for anyone that cares.
Another dead roach oni in here, and
Takeshi?
I swear the fact we named him Koroshi leads to funny moments like that.
Heroshi asking a smart question for once. How the hell do are friends keep beating us to these locked rooms?
So he picked the lock, and then re locked it? Has he been doing this for every room we find people in? What a fucking asshole.
You heard it here guys, even Heroshi thinks we should do the good ending.
As long as you don't take a shower you are safe.
Sadly the picture book didn't get changed.
It make a little more sense if we assume the kid made it.
I like how the bookmark looks weirder.
It does a pretty shit job. and has a pretty shit curse.
Again very shit curse. A curse that is meant to keep a area safe LET'S PEOPLE IN. But rather then letting the people out so they don't damage the area IT KEEPS THEM LOCKED IN.
WHAT? WHAT THE FUCK? WHY? It has no control over a area before it puts the curse there, why would it deem the area a failure because it because it was already damaged?
If you happen to also have a random or scripted chase in a room with a person you saved. The oni gives no shits about them, he just wants you.
Here is another safe spot. This fan remake is just the darnedest thing isn't it.

Yes A REASON WHY WE HAVE THE CAGE OF ONI. This is one change I really love.

So is the oni bite injecting blood into the people he kill? Or am I now getting confused? So the oni is now a reverse vampire if I am reading this right. Didn't think I'll be saying REVERSE VAMPIRE when making a let's play about any AO ONI game.

You know the plot started pretty simple. We entered a haunted house to find a lost boy, and get chased by the supernatural living embodiment of 4chan.
It has so far slowly devolved into more and more madness AND NOW A SUPER SOLDIER PROGRAM. What if I told you it gets more crazy later on.
We can only descend slowly further down the oni hole of madness from here.
If we keep going down the main hall here look who it is.
Is it bad that I keep forgetting both the blonde guy, and takuro name? But I can remember Mika and Anna right off the top of my head.

It just boggles the mind why they had the easy setup of the guy being the grandson of the warden and instead did a roundabout "I was the son of an entirely different family the warden had on the side", which doesn't even make sense time wise considering the warden becomes insane after the oni episode.
Also in general I hate the "we can use X as a weapon" trope. At least in the last century you had military tech becoming civilian tech that improved life rather than the opposite.

I really don't get it myself, because
we do meet the girl who wrote those notes about burning down the old house and letting the oni out. Shocker of Shocks she has no way of being his mother, so it can't be her.
You can see why I wanted to jump right to this game after finishing 6.23. Just trust me, if you think it's baffling and nonsense now.

I'm having a hard time imagining anything dumber than the twist being Shun is the Oni that has been chasing us around the mansion the whole time.
