Since she thinks no-effort answers are the only ones she deserves to have, I bet she believes just studying Rosetta Stone a few hours a week total will make her a fluent speaker. I'm pretty sure English to Japanese is one of those cases where it's a fucking difficult language and you should take classes with live people and/or get a tutor if you actually want fluency.

It's great that she asked for help with her homework, basically, and some dude gave her an answer and she got legit mad because he didnt answer her question 'correctly' then started calling him an idiot because "Ugh I asked for a MNEMONIC do you FUCKING IDIOTS EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS?! Even though Im pretty sure languages like Japanese and Chinese were based on calligraphy and considered an art form so there's not gonna be an easy trick like, 'A is for Apple!' or 'Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally'.

So no, while people do know what mnemonics are, they dont actually fit the role of what youre asking for so being a sperg about only wanting one specific answer and making sure it fits the literal, hair splitting definition of whatever it is you asked about and you dont need to unload your superiority onto your followers and lecture them about how youre smarter than them anyway.

For what it's worth, I dont know the language, and I could kind of figure out what that dude's answer meant. Shi looks like a face looking left, Tsu looks like a face looking up. Also they may be squiggly.

To be honest, I only could bare to read the text-only LPs on SA- shit like RedChocobo's Pokemon LPs and the Goons Play Princess Maker 2. The video content always struck me as pretty cringe outside of a handful of people, since the average goon has the charisma and timing of a dead rodent.

It's more or less a game built to showcase E CELEBS and came out about as well as you'd expect. Not even the SJW-y sites could give it more than a passing mention in their awards shows.

It's a shame too, since the guy doing the mecha and character designs nailed the 80s anime aesthetic pretty well.

Don't get me wrong, personally I don't give a flying rats ass if somebody is popular enough on YouTube, Twitch, or Patreon or whatever they're using now, that they can make some cash off of it. If they make enough to support themselves off of it, then more power to them.

The thing is, even considering ALL of those "income streams", you need more popularity than 99% of the people doing this shit have. Twitch and Patreon can net you some dough, but how long do you honestly expect little Johnny's parents to keep letting him spend $20 a month on their credit card to support your ass? It's so volatile, if you're barely making enough to scrape by, and the next month half your followers don't/can't pay, you're just fucked for the month. How can you honestly think that's a viable career option?

Unless you're someone like PewDiePie, that has ALREADY made millions off this shit, so much so that if the entire concept died tomorrow, he would still never have to work again, and be just fine off of what he's ALREADY earned. Anything short of that, and your happy ass is now back in the job market. When an employer at anything other than a fast food joint asks a 30 year old individual why they have no work history for the last year(s), do they honestly expect to scrape by with, "Well, I played video games for the internet and failed."? When this thing started out, if somebody came in and started talking about getting paid for Let's Play, they would've been laughed off the forum. The apartment she's sharing with Chip is the one he started renting when he moved out of his parents' house after getting a job working at Volition. On the Link to the Past stream he did a while back (it's archived on his YT channel) he talked about buying appliances for the appartment.

I always assumed that Chip was paying all of the rent on the apartment, but it could be that they split rent (but, given VoidBurger's tendency to parasitism I doubt she's paying rent).

Edit: I meant to write that it could be that they split rent but wrote "couldn't" instead. Fixed.

When this thing started out, if somebody came in and started talking about getting paid for Let's Play, they would've been laughed off the forum. Now, the entire forum is discussing LP Cash as a serious issue. When the hell did that happen?

It was a combination of seeing TotalBiscuit/PDP making millions ("I could do that, I'm as funny as TotalBiscuit!") coupled with the birth of Patreon accounts, so yeah, right around that time.

When I was there, we shit on ANYONE and EVERYONE who even mentioned trying to make money off of LPs. I think it was around 2012-ish when the attitude shifted.

One thing you have to remember is that there were a lot of people bitter about TB getting laughed off the LP forum and then going on to be one of the most influential people in gaming. I was never a goon, but I followed LPs enough to know there was definitely an attitude that you should be doing it for the fun of it, and anyone trying to monetize was pathetic for trying to monetize what very obviously couldn't be a career. I also remember noticing the sudden switch.
