That's a terrible thought. I just hope if that video ever surfaces, somebody over dubs it with a bell ringing, and somebody shouting "SHAME!" multiple times over the whole thing.


On a side note, have a Let's Play Panel! With Chip, Ironicus, Geop, and non other than Voidburger. This was back in 2014, (pre-pink hair/Chip bonin'?), and features an amazing group of talking points and circle jerkiness that just really drives the point home that she is an unemployable sperg.

Points of interest that I noticed:

21:30 - "How do you make money off of Let's Play?". To which Void immediately responds "You don't!". Wait...I thought she was the one who wanted this illustrious LP career?

25:30 - Chip explains how he landed his current job through his LP connections, and Voidburger says, "Me too!". Did she ever have an actual job that was caught from LP? Or is she just referring to her Patreon bucks and shit?

It's probably a reference to her Patreon, though she was also applying to Polygon and similar using her LP videos as examples of her editing abilities. There was also a rumor going around after Chip got hired at Volition that VB was hoping he could use his connections to get her a job there too. (This was back before they became a couple, in fact one of the reasons they hid their relationship was because VB was concerned she'd be accused of fucking her way into a job position or only dating Chip because he helped her get the job she wanted.)

I'd love to know what reasons she has for why learning Japanese is such a high priority. Most jobless people with no skills are more concerned with where their next rent check will come from, but I guess that's just my male privilege talking.

I'm thinking she's probably going for games localization. There's a pretty decent amount of wealthy Twitter-loving hipsterfolk in the field (think Alison Rapp) who make it seem like an easy, fun and geeky job, so I can see how someone so desperate to profit off of being a gamer girl would get into it.

The one snag: you actually need to have a measurable skill. Unlike with Let's Plays and journalism, people aren't going to give you any paid work if your only credentials are "I have a vagina and I'm upset". Even if it's for a sparkly career, Void seems to loathe being challenged in any way whatsoever - the things that she's getting upset over are problems that pretty much everyone runs into within their first couple months of study.

She seems like the kind of person who fell hook line and sinker for those video game degree ads put out by for-profit colleges where they make it look like you get to play games all day and get paid six figures for it. I guess it's really, really easy to fall for that sort of thing when you want to believe so badly that you deserve to never be required to do an honest day's work because that's just how important your feelings are.

Must be kind of depressing to see that your new forums has less activity than a single thread dedicated to making fun of said forums. This is not even accounting for the fact that a huge amount of the traffic there are just from people in this thread. Just for reference, this thread was started on December, and the LP zone forums appeared during January.
