Let's Players originating from Something Awful - ft. VoidBurger, General Ironicus, Bob Kamoc

So this isn't about anyone in particular, but this picture basically shows how little difference there is between the big LP cows here and all the little LP cows left on the SA forums themselves:

Fucking PewdieTrump! How dare he address the media for libeling him as a nazi, which they never did in the first place despite all the article titles saying so!
Fucking gamers! Says I after posting $10 to post on a Let's Play subforum of a video games section!
Fucking SA administrators, they love racist antisemitic humor and drove away all the good mods!

I don't understand how anyone could mentally reconcile all this shit.
Left the bottom few posts just so you can see the thread title.
EDIT: Initially had a picture for ants, fixed it now. Had trouble getting a screencap to upload properly, sorry about that.

Would this content be better in SomethingAwful and Friends? I figure since it's LP it gets shuffled here.

(While it was kind of obvious before, now we have direct confirmation that she has no empathy for Trump supporters and thinks others should follow suit.)

And subsequently deals with a dissenter:

Nothing like a good ol, two paragraph-long "I'M NOT MAD, YOU'RE MAD" wall of text to totally own a h8r. (Also, she never acknowledges his first point - that justifying being a petty asshole towards someone because they support Trump is awful.)

Also, which one of you did this?

There is probably no saltier group of people than LP goons over Pewdiepie's success. You have a 20 something year old let's player who has amassed millions of dollars, as well as the largest Youtube following in the world that would stay loyal to him despite an all-out media war against him. Meanwhile on the other hand, you have goons like Voidburger trying to impress a handful of nobody's on an irrelevant forum and picking fights with strangers on Curiouscat while wondering why she can't even make a fraction of what Pewdiepie makes despite believing her own LPs to be a hundred times better.

But the worst part of this is, that despite all of VB's posturing about social justice and fighting sexism, racism, and homophobia, everybody thinks she's a vindictive, spiteful, bitter, and hateful person. While Pewdiepie who makes politically-incorrect joke is beloved by millions, including being respected by most other major Youtubers, and is even respected by people who don't even like his videos but stood up for him during the whole Nazi drama. VB doesn't realize that being a good person doesn't mean acting shitty to people that you deem "sexist" or "problematic", it just means being a good person.

At the end of the day Pewdiepie will still have his money, self-respect, and respect of others while Voidburger will be off wondering why she can't find a job in her 30s while having no employment history, and only skill being the ability to upload video game footage with her own commentary spliced in.

As I was reading through some of the latest posts, I realized something else about VB's hypocrisy. She claims she doesn't want fans getting too close, so that's why she acts like a massive bitch and limits interactions, but if that's the case, why the hell does she keep making accounts on sites that are specifically meant for interacting with your fans? Having a Twitter is one thing, since that's a legit useful tool for announcing new videos, and while it certainly does allow some level of interaction, it isn't nearly as personal as the type of Q&A that goes on in any of these "Ask" websites.

It really does suck that Chip is likely going to be too professional to spill the beans on VB when they inevitably break up. Maybe she'll get into a shouting match on Twitter with Ironicus or something.

Idiots like VB think because they have the moral high ground they can treat anyone else like shit and it absolves them of being shitty people.
Her type always professes to be a paragon of virtue and respect toward others, but every time you show them violating their own rules and shitting on other people for being different, their response is a confused "yeah but those people don't count, obviously."

because bitching to yourself incessantly about shit completely unrelated to you in any other situation makes you look like a crazy person
if she does it to her trained children fans she's "progressive"

Don't you diss Tina Fey because I will crush you under the weight of a thousand Jewish lawyers, son

She's Norm's prime example of comedians who try to prove they're the smartest person in the room instead of the funniest, which has really hurt comedy AND political discourse a lot more than most recognize. That said, I'd bang het like a drum and 30 Rock was gold

There's been quite a bit of talk these past few pages about the viability of making "let's plays" as work history and sustainable income and all that. It's really not "as hard" as you think, but it requires a certain amount of special work that Voidburger & Co are unwilling to perform. To them, they see this business as "just dump it on Youtube and people will watch it because they like meeeeee" and nothing more.

Likability is a factor, yes, but that's just one piece of the puzzle. It also requires a fair amount of communication, networking, and collaboration with other people outside of your tiny social circle. You need to do things to get noticed, and sometimes this involves cold-calling companies/developers for potential partnership opportunities with them; make some videos about their games, they promote you, lather rinse repeat. You need to reach out to creators who have a wider audience than you, but do similar things, and collaborate or guest host. This requires building a relationship with them and investing in it to the point where it will benefit both of you.

If you do this shit right then you can tell future employers that you have skills with professional networking, collaboration, social media management, etc. In fact, you could also probably get a few solid references from people you've worked with too. It's not fucking rocket science, but alas this is all bordering on "real work" and it's a lot easier to just buy a Nintendo Switch with autism bux and beg for money on Patreon.

I like how she assumes this guy is a member of the alt-right from two traits: hatred of her and use of the word "cuck". (Never mind that a legit alt-right member would probably hate Indians.)

Normally it'd end here, but this time the story takes a completely out of nowhere twist: Void hypothesizes this guy is me.

Believe me, over the course of the past few months I say she's lulzy enough.

VoidBurger, everyone in this thread is actually the same person using like twenty alt accounts; obviously more than one person thinking that you're anything other than delightful is impossible.

Also, please don't schizo-shame us: harassing the mentally ill is literally ableist and you claim that you're not problematic these days??

Jesus. Between discussion of Chip's supposed micromachine penis thing, and Void's comparatively laid back responses to all these (Where are the cut and paste Word document responses on these Void?)...I don't know what to say. Although, KF is confirmed monitored by her and her ilk, so that's cool. Happy trails Void.

Serious question: Does she respond to EVERY FUCKING QUESTION that's posted on that site? Why? When you KNOW they're trolling after you, and you get so many "haters" asking you questions, why would you not just do the logical thing and...you know, just ignore them. Read the questions sure, but just ignore them, instead of kicking up more shit every time you answer.

Oh wait, that would require somebody with a sense of normalcy who doesn't thrive on this to do that....

KF is basically the movie Split
