That's why I don't dislike Slowbeef, in spite of how it might seem, as he is a few notchs above the rest on the exceptional goon scale. To be fair though, this does tie in to what I said earlier - No sane person would throw their lot in with Bob. He's not going to reflect well on your character if you're one of his clapping seals, and I think Beef realises that.

Further, I'm still hoping one of these goons figures out that the primary point to the video criticizing the Blue Yeti is that you can get better quality mics for cheaper. How can people living off table scraps via Youtube ad revenue have a problem with this? Oh wait.....

They are defensive because the sub-optimal purchase they made to get into the lp fad club had it's worth shat on and were called out for having a dumb reason to make a bad purchase.

The things to remember here are that all of the people upset by the video both have failed to turn their LPing into a venture that makes any money and are subsisting on Walmart/McDonalds levels of income or lower and so they couldn't afford to upgrade their setups anyway, and have already spent all the disposable income they could have afforded on frivolous luxury stuff like microphones that make you sound real good when talking over videos for your tiny insular audience that is many orders of magnitude too small to monetize, because if they all chipped in to help the best guy in the lp-zone get a decent microphone they'd also all die of starvation due to not being able afford their monthly supply of discounted rat-faeces ramen.

They could have just said something like "I like how it sounds" or "Fair points but I'm ok with it because I can improve things in post" and there wouldn't be any drama, but because they're bitter failures they're taking it as a personal attack and lashing out. It's in no small part because it's coming from someone who seems to actually know their stuff(although I don't think he mentioned phantom power, but I'll give him a pass on that since most preamps should provide it). The only real nitpick I have about his video is that when he does the "You plug your mic into your preamp, preamp into interface, interface into computer" he should have swapped the graphics for the preamp and interface around, and the interface he shows is actually an interface + preamp.

Also the only good bits in Beef's video were the bit with the static noise and the bit at the end.

Chip's LPs with Ironicus tend to be pretty good, surprising apolitical stuff. Void's Social Justice Tentacles haven't penetrated him fully it seems, or if they have he's not very vocal about his opinion on the Internet (typically a good move).

There has been a grand twist in the Blue Yeti Saga: it appears that Weegee plagiarized part of the script for his Blue Yeti video from another Youtube channel:

The people behind the allegedly plagiarized script have confirmed on twitter that Weegee did not ask them for permission:

So possibly he doesn't consider it plagiarism and doesn't care. As of the time of me writing this, the accusation video has been up for two hours and Weegee hasn't posted on twitter for the last 20 hours, so we don't have his side, yet.

My opinion: there are more similarities to the voice acting video series than just that one line: the exact images used for the audio equipment, the models of audio equipment used and the pros/cons of each microphone and typical usage. Even the method of highlighting the fucking graphics whilst talking about each mic:

It seems that Weegee just blatantly ripped off this video series and slightly rephrased a few things, like, it's really blatant.

So, yeah, I think Weegee's a filthy scumbag. And not just a scumbag, but a really, really stupid one; how the fuck did he think that no one would notice this?

However, this doesn't really change how much of a retard Bob is. Bob didn't know the video was plagiarized, he was upset about its content.

So, Bob is still a moron, it's just that his argument is now with the voice actors that made the voice acting video series rather than Weegee.
