Let's Players originating from Something Awful - ft. VoidBurger, General Ironicus, Bob Kamoc

Any time slowbeef mentions someone with a woman's name, just assume it's going to be a tranny.

SomethingAwful was such a ground fucking zero breeding ground worse than Tumblr or any other intershithole and SA is/was his whole friend circle so what do you expect.

Google the link between transgender and autism for the full picture of something awful

I agree the smaller fish will be wiped out and probably the only ones that remain are PDP, Ninja and other multi-millionaires.

Overall I wish this steaming/influencer fad would die off. It’s one thing to have celebrities who represent brands because they also act. Influencers are social media leeches that don’t do anything other than tweet about brands or the parties they’re invited to.

The real fun is if you look at any of these influencers who actually post a break down of how they make their money, the more successful they are, the bigger the portion of the pie their sponsorships are. Anyone who isn't sucking corporate dick is going to get wrecked when the market shifts & companies stick with the sure thing; the economy imploding probably won't have too much of an effect on their youtube views (which will help them keep their sponsors), but will mean fewer companies spending less buying random ads, but their targeted advertising (sponsorships) won't see as big of a drop, as long as it seems to be working.
Hilariously, the Trump Effect* on the economy is both prolonging and subsidizing the people who complain about him the loudest.

The "fad" is never going to die off; there have been 'influencer' type-jobs for at least decades at this point, ever since Adias sponsored Run DMC; Run DMC didn't just get the idea for adias sponsorship out of nowhere. When I was in college one of friends who was a bit of a manwhore was approached by some clothing company** and given beer money to wear their stuff & basically go be visible & pick up girls at the bars.
It'll just shift from hipsters on Youtube & whores on Insta to something else.

* I'm not waiting to start a trump derail, but whether or not he's actually done anything, his presence & pro-business economic stance has made companies & investors more optimistic, and more willing to part with their cash in hopes of getting more later.
** To head off the questions: Fuck if I remember which one. I'd never heard of them before or since. They didn't have visible logos on them and looked to me like normal club wear, which seemed odd to me if you wanted to advertise your clothes turning you into a sex magnet.

I am now reminded that the French hate the French Canadian accent because to them it sounds gross and unrefined (Think hard southern accents for Americans) Listening to Psyche in English let's you understand how the French feel.
Well the free are dumb, honestly there are more that one accent among French-Canadians, we don't all sound like stereotypical Quebecers

I think it's a specific area of French Canadians though.. I think it was Verdun? Or something like that.
Point is Psyche's accent sounds weird and doesn't feel right to the ears.

So I fell down the leftist-twitter retardation rabbit hole after checking the context on one of Bob's tweets.

Everyone come join me:

Bob virtue-signals about women in game development:

Bob is retweeting a soyboy shithead "gamedev" named Shaun Spalding who's calling out some random guy who tweeted about being nervous around female game devs. By the way, the guy being called out has an English flag emoji in his twitter handle so he's obviously a racist and probably alt-right:

The creature that started the virtue signalling brigade, Shaun Spalding, a "gamedev" who makes tutorials for Gamemaker (the game creation software) and used to work for YoYo Games (the creators of Gamemaker):

Retweeting support for an Anti-Brexit Papers Please rip-off:

And of course he's a fan of Talcum X:

More virtue-signalling:

A Bioware dev with a financial interest in promoting "diversity" gets in on the fun:

After following the tweet trails for a few minutes I ended up on the twitter of some faggot who runs PAX West named Mark Laidlaw. He's also shilling the anti-Brexit game:

Welcome to 2018:

And full circle back to retweets that are piling on the guy who's nervous around female game devs:

I like the part where they compare completely unrelated things to it, like murder or getting in car accidents. Driving is not a nuanced thing and the road does not constantly shift under your tires. Neither is the murder thing. You can accidentally say something that is considered relatively insensitive to the person you're speaking with. You can't accidentally pull a weapon on someone and end their lives.

There's a proper name for the "oh, you're afraid of X? That just means you're X!" fallacy, but damned if I can remember what it is right now.

Anyway, waiting for this Shaun guy to get outed as a horrible rapist. It's inevitable.
You're probably thinking of ergo decedo fallacy or guilt by association.

Anyway, the guy's original worries of being outed as a sex pervert for being alone with a woman are completely legitimate. It's not even a new thing given recent controversies. It's sort of an unspoken rule in business that if you're in a workplace with the opposite sex and you're in any position of power, you be sure that somebody's with you to back you up in case the other person tries to pin you for something, especially if it's a private area. The people acting offended by this tweet are reactionary idiots.

Ergo decedo sounds about right, thank you.

As far as the rest of what you mentioned, this has been standard business practice in most professional environments for as long as I've been working - even my first-job restaurant job wouldn't let men and women be alone together, let alone a more corporate environment.

Now I'm wondering whether the assumption that this isn't normal is coming from, say, the entertainment industry, which as has been made very clear is much less formal. To put it lightly...

So Chip, Ironicus, void, and snugglebeast their 3rd annual Gextra life stream over the weekend. I genuinely congratulate them on raising money for that charity. Although I guess it's more a congrats to Chip since its his stream, his computer, his games etc.

Anybody watch it? Like almost every year void spergs about how dumb dogs are and how [x] is better.

He only streamed once in a blue moon before, then he moved VB in his house who has a DSP approach of streaming then moving the videos to YouTube. That and the fact he has a Patreon goal where he has to stream either like once a month or week.

And that yearly stream thing is for charity so, I let it slide a bit.

Oh, I wasn't really judging Chip, he can do whatever he wants. And streaming is the hot thing right now.

Doing a stream just seems to literally strip him of all of his LP strengths, which makes me wonder why he'd want to do it. And Chip doesn't have any illusions about it either, he's said on multiple occasions that live commentary isn't really his strong point, his strong points are video editing and having a shitload of patience.

It was more of me saying "Even Chip will admit that he's not a great streamer, odd to hear that he's streaming", but it makes more sense if it's a)for a special occasion or b)fulfilling the demands of his Patreon donators.
