not to get too spergy about voidburgers comments but im pretty sure the fact the beauties didnt have any real character was the point and that it is a part of the larger commentary on commercialism. It was an important part of the world building to show how commercialised warfare had become.

I mean, it's not like you can get Meryl to strip down to her underwear the first time you see her, or like the writers decided to make her ass a plot point. She was a very strong independant character that definitely wasn't added to the plot just to be Snake's mandatory romantic interest.

Nevermind the fact that Eva's outfit is just slightly less revealing than Quiet, that the camera just lets you zoom in on her chest when she's introducing herself or that she provides more fanservice than any other character in the entire franchise. It's a parody, that means it's okay, geniuses. Old games good new games bad.

Good to know Voidburger likes her female characters to be neither seen nor heard. Just get in, do what they need to do to help the men, then get stabbed and bleed out on the floor.

EDIT: oh shit I almost forgot that she included fucking Rose in that statement, a character implemented purely as a backstory element/emotional manipulation tool for the player character, and one that was reviled by the player base for that very reason. Oh, and Fortune, whose death seeker issues were built entirely around having lost all the men in her life (father, husband, son). In fact, from a very real perspective the women of MGS2 are only really important because of their connection to, and/or have their motivations wrapped up entirely in, men.

It was posted in July of last year and lasted all of 2 parts before getting abandoned, no videos since.

And I dunno, it's very clear that they're ashamed of their early vids, since they took this whole shit way too seriously and built their internet careers making fun of kids and teenagers who didn't follow arbitrary rules even the people from SA don't abide by nowadays. But that channel's still the sole reason why Beef and many others got any hint of e-fame outside of their SA circlejerks. Maybe the people who followed their work for an entire decade deserved slightly better than them just walking away from it and pretending it never existed.
