Keeps the TV out of the range of the toddlers. Also leaves more space on any furniture. It's much more efficient to wall mount as much stuff as possible.

I understand having living furniture. It's just the last time I physically put a tv on a stand was like....5+ years ago. Lagscrews into studs, way better than any stand.
I'm not saying this is 100%; but there have been cases where wall mounted TVs cause problems with house sales. Namely, a wall mount is considered a fixture, and a fixture generally applies to stuff that will be sold with the house. There have been cases where people assumed they were getting a TV, only for move-in day to have them get angry the TV isn't there. The best way to solve this is to list it's not gonna be sold with, but it's not always the case; people are stupid, and wall-mounts are stupid. The only time wall mounts are appropriate is if you're gonna pay to have all cables and shit run through the wall, so they don't hang down and look tacky. If you're not gonna have that, don't wall mount.
