Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2
According to the contract you aren't supposed to discuss wages, and that is because he pays many people barely above the minimum wage of the province he is in. All the "fun" stuff and maybe you'll get some free part or a random bonus s is supposed to make up for shit pay. Remember he is doing you a favor by letting you borrow his fame.
Anyone want to question if he is a shitbag? His soon to be criminal convict troon sister was on disability income while he lives in his McMansion. The shitbag sits around blowing tons of money on shit he does not even know how to use or cant even hire someone to use it. His LGBT poster child of a sister is busy assaulting police officers sheriffs and guards while living in some shitty apartment spending disability bucks on tesosterone. How much LMG shit has he sold with all his LGBT target marketing while he lets his own troon sister live some miserable existence selling snails? This is not a good man.
I say blame Linus for being a shitbag when we can see he's being a shitbag. Him having a mentally ill handicapped nutcase of a sibling and not paying their way doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't gone well out of his way to assist them in the past(doesn't necessarily mean he did either). There's eventually a point, even with family where you just have to give up for the sake of your own sanity. Not going to bother going into details trying to powerlevel, but people have limits and crazy family members eventually just need to be cut off.
How much LMG shit has he sold with all his LGBT target marketing while he lets his own troon sister live some miserable existence selling snails? This is not a good man.
I'll give the benefit of doubt in this case to Linus, my fathers(Him as his brothers) family owns a business and I'll say that dealing with family + business is complicated. While I worked there for a good part of my youth, my area is programming so I don't/want to work there, but more than once we had parents(mainly cousins) that wanted to "work" there where they would receive a good paycheck(family is paid a bit more than the average work) but without commiting the work hours or the role and a lot of times they have an "excuse" for that.
You get to a point where, you say you will hire the parent but you states cleary that the the person will be treated equally or worst than an normal employee and it's not because you're his relative that you will have more power or to be dealt differently than your colleague, because if you give them some leeway they will abuse it. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar to this could happen with Linus brother where he wanted to get paid to do nothing
According to the contract you aren't supposed to discuss wages, and that is because he pays many people barely above the minimum wage of the province he is in.
Yeah we know that generally but my comment is specifically about Luke since he's one of his oldest friends who he started the company with. It is much worse if Luke in particular is paid badly compared to just the young interns he's exploiting because they don't know better. I'm not sure why you seem to be taking that as me defending him.

-38:40 the badminton center is open, and has 500 memberships so far. It also has a mini gym upstairs with equipment.
-at 1:19:45 Linus moves from talking about early access to hard to find graphics cards to why perception of him has changed (and tech channels in general). He says perception changed when he revealed the 100 million buyout offer for the company. And because he reads all the comments it makes him sad but he learned to get over it, loosely hinting at Louis' breakdown of him being water off his back now.
Linus tries to spin it all as apathy and not being able to obtain things because the price won't go down. He then mentions how he has to do more big videos in order to get attention like when he recently painted Elijah's home with the wifi blocking paint or doing the all in the TV gaming center. This is all an excuse to not make simple budget builds because "muh price changes too much" but I've never seen LTT do a simple "PC build for your parents" or "simple Photoshop level build" that would help people know the appropriate pieces so they don't have to get bigger cores or GPUs.
It's just about 15 minutes of "I can't do anything, you guys can" when really people can't. It then deflects to companies just sell to AI people instead who take everything they make and just get yelled at by gamers. He is still pissy about that cheap Home Theater video not doing well and not understanding people can't do Scrapyard Wars or Marketplace offers when you're just going to get robbed and killed in most instances these days. Linus does start to realize apathy is setting in which is worse than hatewatching, and even mentions his McMansion which makes me wonder if the thread here is getting to him or he even lurks.
-at 1:45:45 it is brought up a test is coming, in the promotion of PSU Circuit, their power supply channel. They are promoting it on the main channel and apparently showing how they test the PSUs and it will provide insight to if there is any carry over from main channel to PSU Circuit views. Linus again mentions he is committed to the Labs (lol) and the people there, but is wondering what the ceiling is.
-1:58:40 a question is brought up for more women's clothes and Linus says the womens clothing is well received but does not sell because the channel is 96% men/3% women/1% other/tranny. This then turns into a quasi begging for if you like the stuff, buy the stuff and share the stuff. Some womens apparel was paused but then Linus mentions they are going to launch Yoga Pants and just see what happens, if this call to action makes a difference.
-2:34:55 Linus was offered to bid on a private jet, for a million dollars. His uncle works on planes and mentions the cost and upkeep is ridiculous and you cannot really renovate a plane the way you can a home or even a boat. It is also an American jet which would take tens of thousands to bring up to canadian code before normal maintenance and possible part replacement happens.
-2:54:00 talk comes back to this Tech Yacht, as it is more viable than a jet. Long story short Linus will at least talk to the guy to discuss it and what can be done, the biggest obstacle is making sure it has a mooring location because that is as hard to get in BC as a reasonable home/apartment.
With the most optimistic fee outcome from their website (500 Adult Premium memberships, all paid monthly) would put that at a respectable number just short of a million a year, which would probably place the business in the viable range. But the reality is that its probably subject to an 80/20 rule like everything else. So that'd be more realistically, just around 200k a year, and 90% of that is still coming from the premium membership. That's relevant, because a private gym, lounge and towel service is not cheap. And it doesn't really scale down well - Its not any cheaper to have the gym or lounge half occupied.
Business is still young, but its pretty clear its not the rip roaring success he probably hoped it'd be right out the gate.
He may or may not, but I assure you someone at LTT does, and I'm sure sentiment bubbles up. He may not know we're ragging on the renovations, but he'll know in general that people are.
That ceiling will entirely depend on whether he can make the labs better than the other tech reviewers out there. LTT has been less than useless for actual meaningful tech review for years now, that audience has moved on, and not to the Labs. They're off with GN and the like. Its not that GN is the gold standard of perfection, but people are already there, and just being 'close' or 'almost' as good as them won't make people switch, you need to actually be significantly better than them to convince people to come in. You need to be quicker to the punch, with better data, and less issues. anything short of that, and you're not worth considering.
The only renovations that make sense on a private jet are better noise isolation and a good sleeping accommodation. The kinds of people actually travelling so much that a private jet makes sense, are going to be working or sleeping, little space between. They don't need a home theater in the jet, or gigabit wifi, they need a laptop, satellite internet, and then mere mortal concerns like a travel wardrobe, a good bed, and a coffee machine.
Linus going for the private jet life would be beyond hilarious. Especially when the inspectors find some retarded jury rigging for cruising altitude air cooling of a server rack, and refuse to let it fly.

He's a fucking idiot. He's been playing up this "labs" shit since at least December 2021. So for over 3 years now he's been throwing money at this crap with nothing to show for it other than the normal showing off tech crap type videos on his channel.
He's even got a playlist for this crap.
headphone test equipment. Has he done any tests? No. Other outlets do testing, wtf do we need this fuckwit who knows nothing about audio doing it for? And at the rate he's going any tests he did do 2.5 years ago aren't relevant now with dozens more makes and models released since then.
Made a video claiming he could do PSU tests, hasn't done any PSU tests.
7 months ago claims he built a "laptop test lab" ok where the fuck is that content to be found? Oh wait, nowhere
GN I can understand not having the fan shit ready to go since they bought that fan test equipment, because the guy only has what 3 employees? Linus has dozens and at one point over 100. What would have made sense for this retard to do, is get the equipment to test one set of products. Fans, headphones, laptops, whatever. Have a team establish and publish a set of test methodologies, and once that segment is up and running have a couple of lower level staffers following the test procedures to crank out content while the setup team moves onto establishing the test procedures and methods for the next product category.
Had he actually done that, he could have had each set of products to test going to content production within 3 months. Start with the headphones, move onto keyboards, the lower tier employee monkeys crank out headphone content. After 3 months, move onto laptop tests, now he's got 2 small teams producing results for content for headphones and keyboards already. Another 3 months go by? Setup team moves to cooling products, leaving him with teams handling headphones, keyboards, and laptops. You just repeat this same pattern of establishing the shit, having some lackeys do the basic tedious work, and then move onto the next project one after another. After a year of this he would have a content with this labs shit that gets broader quarterly, all while showing repeatable test conditions for months and continuing onward from there. Clearly he has the time and resource for this shit, just no one tard wrangling for him, or tard wrangling linus himself.
This points out one of the biggest problems. Nobody fucking knows about the website. In all 3 years he has talked about the lab. On WAN, in videos. He has never once dropped a link to the website. At least when i tuned in to watch a review. He mentions that the lab has done testing sure. But the only link that matters LTTstore. It is the same problem as the Honey issue. He got flack because his notification was in a thread on the forum that gets 0 airtime. So he might as well have said nothing at all.
I'd never really given his badminton website a look, and it nails the web design that every Asian gym/restaurant has where it looks one step above a phishing website. It's worth a look: https://smashchamps.com
Staff pay is $21/hour CAD ( $14.70/hour USD) I also forgot that Linus had already started talking about converting half of the courts into pickleball courts.
Pricing (listed in CAD $) is a mess (and is broken on their site). Playing at most times costs $3-$5/hour with ladder/event pricing being $10-$20/hour, in addition to requiring a $30/year membership.
Alternatively, they offer an unlimited pass for $1,500/year.
They use a separate booking website for some reason: https://smashchamps.clubautomation.com/calendar/classes?tab=by-date. Unless leafs are aliens, I expect the majority of people are not pre-booking gym sessions, and just show up and will gauge how busy they are. That said, for today/tomorrow they have ~30% capacity pre-booked which imo are solid numbers but also what you hope for in the launch honeymoon phase.
and in case you're looking for hot singles in Vancouver, Linus has got you covered.
And because I think it's strange, here are their House Rules:
13K subscribers, most popular video has 25k views from 8 months ago. Next most popular video has 9.9K views from 5 months ago. Watching their most recent video, the voice is more natural than in the early videos, but the content is so boring with the autistic robot voice flatly reading out specs while showing graphs and B-roll.
It's their idea of streamlining the operation as much as possible, but it misses the mark as it's quantity over quality. All they needed to do was get a PSU nerd with some sense of humor to copy the style of Jonnyguru and make the video version of that. Unbox it on cam, riff on the retardedly short cables and boring aesthetic, tear it down to reveal the chinky caps hiding in a $200 power supply.
But hiring someone who knows anything and can present to cam will probably damage Linus' ego and cost more than $5 so he'd rather run a zombie channel earning a pittance from PIA sponsorships.
So I click on a PSU page... and it's a bunch of basic shit and similar stuff to what we've seen from toms hardware, techpowerup, anandtech, etc. that managed to do more with less. Also this page only goes back to March 2024... so basically it took him 2+ years to do what I said should have taken him 6 fucking months and it's still a shit version of it. Or a keyboard review
I'm sorry, wtf is anyone supposed to get out of that? They tested the default activation on an analog switch keyboard. That doesn't tell a consumer anything. Also "they're literally using all that stuff" Really? I'm not seeing any headphone reviews, CT scan images, or anything indicating they're using their RF chamber of environmental test chamber. So they're doing keyboards, power supplies, and mice... the simplest of the shit after 3 years.

That's hilarious, and pathetic at the same time. Of course if he didn't have his 100 employees fucking around doing nothing all day, he could have fewer people actually doing shit.
I can see the frugal thing being Luke not wanting to admit hes underpaid. Nobody wants to live with roommates if they can help it, especially in a tiny apartment.
Looking through the smashchamps website, the gym actually looks ok. Given what has been said in this thread about the one at the LTT warehouse I was expecting it to be sparse and soy like. The members area looks like an office common room but I can't imagine many people will be fucking about there really.
Labs:
For people who don't know, Linus publishes articles to https://www.lttlabs.com/ for GPUs, PSUs, Mice, and Keyboards.
All this work is carried out by a team of 5-10 people and utilize a $2-3 million dollar testing lab
In videos where Linus talks about actual tech (so just the 3 GPU videos in 2025 out of the ~50 videos released this year) he uses the labs testing numbers to generate graphs for his videos Note: I also genuinely didn't realize that 1/3 of Linus videos on YouTube are paywalled now, I feel old
And specifically for power supplies, he has an automated process which ingests those LTTLabs articles and AI voices them for his PSU YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@PSUCircuit (same thing all those YouTube slop channels do with top reddit posts)
Here is my criticism of Labs:
It may as well not exist
Why?
1) The empirical, quantitative data that is gathered is largely meaningless
2) The data is presented in an incredibly useless form
The best part about LTTLabs is their product photography and cool renders. Neither of which.... really matter
The site's "comparison bin" feature is also genuinely impressive from a technical sense, but similarly doesn't really matter
I would argue that there is no useful information on this page, and most of it feels as though it is written by AI, despite supposedly being written by pic below
The roll-up infobox on the right tells you that this is indeed a keyboard, it's wireless, it's a 60% layout, and sort of mentions that the key switches can be swapped.
It then notes that $180 is too much for this keyboard.
None of that required any testing to be conducted. It's also plainly less useful than the Amazon description below:
Amazon:
But hey, if you scroll down the page on Labs you can watch them press the buttons on the keyboard or view a bunch of graphs... DATA!!!!
There are 32 PSU articles
These similarly miss highlighting facts people care about or rating them on a sort of curve that people can appreciate or find meaning in Article Link
There are 30 GPU articles
These DO have a performance chart (if you scroll enough), which is the only useful fact on the page Article Link
But hey neato, they have a professional-grade 3D FLAIR scan of the GPU chip that you can rotate around and look at
Back to my point
All of this is to say, the majority of data they gather does not have meaning on its own if they cannot package and present it. idk if Linus needs to hire a marketer, a data scientist, or a librarian, but these pages are full of numbers and measurements which bury the couple important facts someone might actually care about. Often things that require no testing like how many HDMI ports a graphics card has or the type of grip a mouse is suited for. That's the crux, I think the data a consumer or enthusiast needs on these products already exists, or could trivially exist as part of a standard product review. Linus' entire Labs endeavor adds nothing.
It doesn't. Even without relying on video presentation, he could look at even something like rtings.com and see how they present reviews for everything. Even consumer reports that people used to pay for did better than this shit.

I own this keyboard. It’s a pretty solid thing, I won’t be throwing it through a car window any time soon but it doesn’t rattle. So either their unit is bad or it’s written by an AI.
