I've seen some real autism about screwdrivers. Some engineers/technicians absolutely hate ifixit's stuff. They then go around and expect people to buy 100+ dollar singular screwdrivers. I doubt Linus's is actually worth those of the same value from much older and respected manufacturers. Especially with all of it's moving parts and the fact it is the first time Linus group is trying to manufacture something like this.
That's really dumb. Any old harbor freight screwdriver will do the job. It's the fasteners that are more important to go anal about depending on what you're using it for.

No you need a high quality one that will never break or strip.
Then use the cheap crap ones because you're worried of damaging your nice expensive one.

You only need two screwdrivers to work on computers: a really short one, and a long one.
There's a few special scenarios, such as in my piece of shit 900D it was impossible to put in the gpu thumbscrews with the 6800xt I just got because the frame of the case overlaps and the card is so fat that there's practically no space for fingers, let alone a screw driver. Thankfully it came with a bracket that I was able to install with a right angle screw driver lol. At this point I'm just going to drill holes through the frame so a long screwdriver can go right through to where the thumbscrews are.

100$ is still cheap for a screwdriver but you only buy them once in your life.

Wiha and Wera are responsible for alot of fighting over Inheritence,

who actually wants this shit?

lol no. Once you get over $20 or whatever for a pack of drivers you're just getting more autistically expensive. It's just like the tool truck guys who INSIST that snap on is worth the money in performance. No.
well you replace alot of drivers with one detachable one and isolated detachable ones are just not cheap.

if you dont need isolated tools, well those are much cheaper. and the LTT one is twice the price from what good tools cost.

I guess that depends, if you're using it all the time, then nearly any price can be justified.

But if you just have the tools to do random repairs and installations at home, or you know, PCs which have been largely tool less since 2011, then maybe a hundred bucks is a bit much.

Then again, I'm using a set of tools purchased decades ago (older than me) and are still very much in good shape, so maybe I just don't appreciate how shit has gotten lately. No idea how much they cost though.

I do like Salazar's deep cleaning videos and can't believe bigger channels haven't stolen the idea from him yet. My only issue with him is in some videos he's obviously flexing what I assume to be family money by showing expensive cars (he picked up a dirty PC in a porsche and made sure to show it)

I come from the mindset of a good tool or object pays for itself so money isn't an issue if it's used frequently and it's not made in chyna. I still have some family tools in good shape made in 80's germany and japan. That's what makes his talk of this screwdriver so ridiculous, it's 70 bucks for chyna made when a swiss made is 80 bucks, and he has people who would gladly pay 100 to support LTT. That's what pisses me off the most, for all the talk about being ethical and doing things right by his employees, he buys more and more stuff from chyna while also charging a premium like it was made in non shithole countries. I suspect he doesn't even pay his main underlings well, they're probably under what a normal salary would be they just have the "cool factor" of working at LTT and getting a bunch of sponsored stuff for free around Christmas.

From what i've seen on his twitter he does stock trading and real estate. But yeah, he does have a lot of high end cars (2004 ferrari 360 spyder, porsche and recently bought an R8) for someone who is 27, married, and has two kids. I do like his videos though.

Or one of these cheap bit sets that have one of these flexible attachments with which you can screw "around corners" and also length adjustable, very practical and cheap, for the price of that chinese screwdriver you can probably get five of them. Sometimes even come with cheap plastic prying tools. One of these sets is pretty much all I use for computers. There's some tools you don't buy cheap like e.g. for cable crimping or stripping, but screwdrivers, who cares, you're screwing down a mainboard into a case so it doesn't slide away, not airplane maintenance.

>Petabyte storage server
Why the fuck do you need so much space? To save all your raw footage that you shit out several times a day? Seems a bit overkill. And then you can't afford to back THAT up just in case? Wew lad.

I don't think a petabyte is unreasonable in the case of LMG. They'd be dumb not to back it up to a remote server but the size is reasonable imo

I couldn't imagine the cost of having a remote backup for petabytes. I suppose that raw footage would add up along with whatever else they do with files and such. But damn, its rare I hear that much being used for small companies like that.
