Lowering his caloric intake to a reasonable number would be an excellent start; as you say, you don't stay that size with a sneak snack every now and then, it's because every meal is several meals and/or you drink anything but water (a lot of sugar in everything). If he wanted exercise, the big thing to worry about are his joints, especially his knees; if he wants to move, either a daily walk or two, and/or one of those sit-down exercise bikes, so you can exercise while gaming (I've done it). But a good start would be a proper diet, doing a morning/evening walk, and drinking water (no soda, gatorade, coffee, none of that, water). He'd probably see results within 2 weeks if he could stick to it, and a month would be definite results; the hard part is fighting your body and its cravings, he needs a food wrangler or a shock collar.
Plain coffee and tea are A ok as long as you drink an equal amount of water.

YouTube’s help says this about HDR to SDR downgrades:

I’m not sure what the problem is? Can’t they just generate this LUT file and upload it? The GitHub screenshot he showed is an MKVMerge command (though the YouTube help text suggests that there is a UI tool built into the uploader to do this), which should be easy to automate (and MKVMerge is a very common tool used for editing MKV metadata; I’ve used it to remove languages I don’t speak from videos). With 10 seconds of Googling I found a tutorial where the guy used a wrapper he wrote around that mkvmerge command. I’m not a film editor so I don’t know if the tutorial solves their specific issue, but to me looks like there isn’t really a blocker to uploading HDR content? The automatic stuff mentioned in the video doesn’t appear to be supported, but the manual metadata does?

I found this video which used the aforementioned tutorial, and the colors look good on my SDR monitor, though less good than on my HDR phone. It doesn’t look washed on the SDR screen, so I think the technique described in the tutorial works?

Also, YouTube supports HDR10+ dynamic metadata:

That terminal link goes to a page for VP9 encoded webms, so maybe that’s what they have to use?

Sorry for double post and long rambling
Linus finally figured out how to upload an HDR video today. I knew he was full of crap when he said that YouTube didn’t support HDR videos that downgrade gracefully to SDR. The train video I linked in the post I’m replying to shows that this has been possible for a while.

One of the editors confirmed in the comments that this is a mapped video:

I wonder if one of his employees read this thread and shared the tutorial I found with him…

I say water, because most coffee/tea drinkers fall into two categories; those that can do it straight, and those that cant, and those that can't load up on creamer, sweetener, and other stuff that dump a load of sugar into the mix. If he can go straight, then yeah, just resupply with water (LTT Store plug), otherwise forgo it.

Anthony strikes me as the type that eats a couple of snickers and wash them down with diet soda between every solid meal of [grease] + french fries every a day. That's before counting the snacks. If he only ate greasy meals and cut out the snacks I bet he would lose a lot of weight despite sitting down all day.

Good point. If Anthony has a four Snickers bar a day habit, that's 1000 calories. Given that a sedentary male like Anthony only really needs 2000-2200 calories a day to maintain a healthy weight, that's half his allowance gone in just snacks alone.

For those people the snickers don't count as snacks though, they're like power bars. Maybe the stray cookie or two multiple times per day. Then there is snacks for comfort on top of that after work.

I've said this before but the very fat person and the broke person with a job and a paycheck is very similar. They don't know where calories comes from or where the money go, they're just fat/broke and it is a mystery how others are not.

New TV review is still a flex on his viewers. Look how expensive my family room tv is. And I paid out of pocket for it and another TV we reviewed.

I was watching their video about the lasted One Plus phone and Linus' wife wasn't using his name. Is it only on the videos they make?
Linus and Yvonne go by their maiden last names professionally. IDK why.

Can't wait until these are 6.99 with shipping on Aliexpress. This is 81$ with shipping to my island nation and over 20$ more expensive than a PB Swiss ratcheting screwdriver. PB Swiss is widely considered the best screwdriver brand in the world and is made by the world's most expensive labor in Switzerland.

Just ordered 10! Thanks Linus!
