I'm sure one of the resident Linux autists will be able to go into depth about why, but I can smell posers even through a youtube video, the livestream where he fumbles a competition which then has to be called off early to avoid a giant embarrassment should give you an idea about how incompetent he is at tech in general and just how flabbergasting it is to see people here repeating that, paraphrasing, "he really knew his stuff".

I personally think there is, there's a lot of cool tech that I see in channels like STH and Level1Techs, like filesystems that implements zero-copy, nvme over fabrics, clustering and more.
For example, linus has 3 servers with 1pb+ of storage and he did the same cringe ass video for all of them. He easily do better by using Storage Arrays insteads and it would be a more interesting video because he would show a dummy box that can fit 80 drives and connects to a server by a SAS or NVME-oF cable and can be daisy chained. By he doing that, he would have way more content, like comparing benchmarks by SAS and NVME-oF, using different NVME-oF cables and interfaces, bechmark between direct and daisy chained arrays and even by using storage accelerators.
But he's and his team ADHD edit wouldn't let they do it and even if they do, they would fuck after a few years
The way that Linus setups his storage is by using big disk arrays with little redundancy. For example, IIRC, he uses pools of 10 drives where 2 is redundancy besides that he uses very big disks and from the same manufaturer.
A problem with that is that calculating the parity with big pools takes a lot of time and a rule of thumb in the storage space is that for you to expect others drivers to fail "soon" after the first one fail after a few years if they are from the same batch, so he's wearing down weared drivers when he's recalculating parity to them. That's why you see datacenters like akamai, backblaze and others mixing drivers from different batches and manufacturers on their arrays.
Another problem is the lack of monitoring, they had 2 failures and in every single one of them, they didn't setup a alert system(send an email, telegram/slack message, ...) that something is wrong and with their setup this is problematic.
If I was Linus, I would do one of this things for the setup, use a in house LTO racks(I forgot the name in english), setup some kind of cold HDD storage with RAID 1 or pay for a cold storage on Amazon or Backblaze
. So you don't have someone who would create ZFS alerts, grafana/prometheus dashboards or do a basic health check-up in the morning because they are too busy writing ADHD videos to LTT.
I watched it now, the port-fording take is very wrong, you can crawl the entire IPV4 network in 5 minutes(with very special hardware) and about a few hours with an good house internet. That's how hackers hacked a lot of log4j, used a ssh bug last year and others exploits to hack random servers online.
Running things locally isn't easy as linus seems to think but I do agree that eufy is wrong there as a privacy-tard. It's funny that Linus at the same time don't complain that Android and iOS background notification service makes that all your messages goes "unencrypted" to Google/Apple server and I bet that they sell that info but it's ok because they are US companies.

And it irritated me how much the judges and team were trying to help Anthony. You can't just say "Oh, are you sure? Have you checked all the those drives at all?" / "Am I supposed to do something with the drives?" / "Oh, no - I mean we're not saying you're supposed to. I mean, we're also not saying you shouldn't. We were just wondering if you had." Anthony shambles over to the PC to check the drives... Also, Anthony started to get angry and blame the test.
Linus's staff seem to really have an axe to grind against him but honestly it feels more like the petty resentment of people who deep down are angry at their station in life against someone who is successful and socially capable. I came out of watching that with more respect for Linus than I went in with. Whether or not he's Steve or Wendell (L1 Techs) level on some of the deeper silicon lore, he demonstrably does know his stuff when it comes to a lot of practical knowledge. He absolutely blasted through those including a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't necessarily expect many people to catch - like finding a real bug in the UEFI that the test creators hadn't been aware of.
Plus I can't be certain but I think he figured out how far ahead of Anthony he was (who ended the test having only completed 1/3 of the assigned tasks and destroyed data) and was deliberately fucking around with a long-winded solution in Minecraft. Maybe, maybe not - but he was trying to make things entertaining for the viewer for certain by doing all that. When he actually needed to beat the Minecraft test he did it in around two minutes. He's competitive and voluble, but he also is willing to put that behind creating what he thinks is a good show. I saw way more problems with his staff in that video than I did with him.

I agree that PSU testing is important, I've had PSU's brick on my old man's PC that I built for him before, and that was a heart attack moment. That said I don't think it needs a separate, probably pretty boring channel for it
Most of the time you want to stay away from those cheap shitty PSU's directly from Chinese companies. I'm not saying they can't work or there are no good ones. But you want to stick with a bronzer silver platinum or gold 80+ rated PSU. Mostly from a reputable company. Though I think I heard about PSU's from big PC part companies having issues a few years ago. I think it was just one PSU.
I just used the same PSU I had in my first build in second build. A good quality PSU is very important. Especially if you plan to game on the PC and use a lot of power.

Anthony seems a different MTF type- trooning out not because he is too ugly for women, but because he is too ugly for they gay scene (that is notoriously brutal for looks). I would have failed this so hard. RAID0 is stupid stupid stupid. RAID10 if you want performance, RAID5 if you want capacity with at most six drives, RAID6 or RAID60 beyond that. And doing RAID through the motherboard instead of through the operating system or an actual RAID HBA card is stupider stupider stupider.
