Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I've done some more accurate crunching of numbers, and if the source of my numbers is accurate, at the beginning of the week when shit went down, Linus was at around 39,500 paypigs on his personal patreon. As of this post, it is now 36,785.

Pretty sure it was up around 41500 when the first GN video dropped. The sub tracker that some autist made only started recording after a couple thousand pay pigs had already peaced out. Which would make the amount they've lost somewhere between $23,000 and $50,000 a month because some unknown fraction would be in the $10 tier.

It was either in 2021 or 2022 Linus also disclosed in video (don't have time to search out the reference right now) that LTT's revenue was in the region of $19M a year in a much better economy and time of higher ad-rates / marketing budgets. With the Floatplane exodus alone they've managed to shave a few hundred basis points off their revenue.

This is Linus we're talking about. There's gotta be some sort of financial incentive for him to use a bit of both.
Totally. Linus went on those unhinged rants at team viewer proudly stating how he absolutely only will use some ancient version of their software and refuses to touch it because it’s “paid for forever”. Sounds like a great thing to rely on for trusted remote connections

I’ll also point out they’ve openly admitted to hanging their two factor authentication by having employees remote into a single android phone that regularly had reliability issues.

Plus the multiple instances of massive data loss. How many times do you listen to the “oh oops I’ll do better” and realize that the room temp IQ just won’t cut it

Madison made some more tweets:

As usual, redditards have the faggiest takes imaginable. HR complaints are always confidential in heckin' progressive Canada, unlike in the fascist American states!:

This fucking moron thinks that LMG's HR department (aka Linus's wife) would keep employee complaints anonymous, even after the recent deluge of cascading shitshows that show how unprofessional they are.

I absolutely had no issues with using Outlook.
I have. I have to use Outlook 2013 at work and I find the UI to be an insufferable clusterfuck of five billion different buttons with elaborate descriptions. I don't even know what's the "refresh" option named as.

At home I prefer using Thunderbird. Somehow it's simpler to use, and the Supernova UI introduced in Thunderbird 115 looks like it's insanely intuitive and straightforward compared to Outlook 2013.

I think Outlook is used in businesses just because Office is used in businesses. It's all streamlining, because otherwise the only software from the suite worth a shit is the holy trinity of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

I don't know how anyone can deal with using gmail in a professional setting that does a lot of email. Or do anything with out excel.
Love or hate Microsoft, outlook works. Search works in outlook but somehow fucking GOOGLE can't figure it out in their Gsuite. And with the desktop version of outlook I can read and reply to emails offline since it downloads emails to your laptop and que's them up in your outbox for when you get internet again.

One of the vendors I deal with switched to G and ended up having to download openoffice because their Gsheets thing can't deal with our autistic as fuck formula loaded excel forms.
Google realized people were searching for things they don't like (like Kiwi Farms), and decided to stick their nasty fingers inside the machine they're known for (the search engine). If you're known for a search function and purpose make it retarded, it probably carries over into other search functions.

And thats how you ended up with a fucking email program that doesn't allow custom folders or filters, from Google. Labels don't count as it all dumps into the inbox anyway, and there's no automation for anything to move them in there. Most useless fucking shit.
That's the best part of Outlook in a corporate environment. My company is so proud about their social work and weekly emails showing how civic minded they are; rule if from-x, sent to y-folder. Different tickets have different levels of urgency; can fucking sort them via urgency so all I need to do is look at my folders to see what's going on. Automatic sorting based on your own dictated rule sets is the best fucking thing around.

Plus the multiple instances of massive data loss. How many times do you listen to the “oh oops I’ll do better” and realize that the room temp IQ just won’t cut it
I'm convinced a lot of the fuck-ups in their infrastructure is Linus wanting ease of access. I'm not saying he could, but I'd expect him to be able to quote best security practices, then say he won't use them, because he doesn't have time to fuck around with 2FA. Then someone would tell him why those are best practices and why they should be followed; to which he'd probably put his foot down as owner of the company and tell you to back off. Then bad shit inevitable happens, and he has to grit his teeth and groan out a "It's free content" as he spends thousands of dollars on more non-enterprise level drives.

Linus Media Group 'Head of Business Development' Colton recalling an interview that Linus did, here's Linus interviewing a potential employee - "Alright... are you into beastiality? Do you watch beastiality?"

If this is just such a nonchalant thing to say at the workplace, we've only just scratched the surface.

He's just funny like that sometimes. 😋 haha.

Interesting video by Coreteks on the subject. Initially I was skeptical because of the thumbnail and the fact that I like Steve and GN, but it's undeniable.
TLDR: Linus is a faggot, Steve should stop taking sponsorships from companies whose products he reviews, and probably apologize to Coreteks.

In 2021, Coreteks called out LMG for the same shit and worse (working directly with nvidia/intel and then reviewing their products). Steve replied (or at least the GN Twitter account did) saying that Coreteks takes Windows OEM key reseller sponsorships, implying some kind of conflict of interest/hypocrisy/whatever. This is irrelevant because Coreteks does not talk about operating systems. He primarily discusses GPUs and other components, none of which are manufactured by Microsoft. Nobody listened to Coreteks, not even Saint Steve, so LMG kept getting worse as they themselves accepted sponsorships from intel/nvidia/satan.

GN Deepcool sponsor in June - Deepcool review in July

firefox_UvjI5YSOle.pngfirefox_aswViB0ANB.pngfirefox_Ev5KhDemHa.png

In 2023, GN calls out LMG for the same things Coreteks called them out for in 2021. Which is fine, we've all seen the video and it's 100% true, and Linus should kill himself for race mixing*. What's not fine is Steve taking sponsorships, as recently as a few weeks ago, from companies like Deepcool, right before reviewing Deepcool coolers. This is the very definition of a conflict of interest. Whether or not you believe Steve is the very best of them, there is no excuse for this in light of his video on LMG, and his offhanded tweet to Coreteks in 2021 (again, it might have been someone else who was operating the Twitter account). Steve, along with the rest of the tech reviewers, needs to stop taking sponsorships from companies whose products they review. Especially if Steve is going to have the friggen' audacity to make videos calling out LMG for the same.

Many retards in the comment section defending Steve to the death and calling Coreteks an LMG shill. Despite the fact that Coreteks called Linus a fraud back in 2021. There is literally no difference, in terms of mental illness, between Linus/Steve simps and Democrats/Republicans.

*Disclaimer: Steve is also a Libertarian race mixer with a chinky wife. You can hear him speak Mandarin in videos sometimes.

It is strange considering how OP is written like a normal lolcow thread. Maybe Null is secretly a fan?
@Slav Power wrote the OP, and followed it up with a more formal OP in PG.

He's said in the past that he's unhappy with both OPs, but tbh I think he's being too harsh on himself. He did a great job gathering up Linus' greatest hits and putting them into an easy to follow OP.

Now Linus is a bona fide lolcow, I'd like to see the OPs/threads merged and moved to IF.
Perhaps I'll do it like this when I'm back home: I'll make a TTS request to move this thread to IF as-is, assuming that if I ever end up finishing the new OP it will be a drop-in replacement for this thread in IF. Just so it's out of off-topic without being stuck here because of my refusal to take effort into making a better OP.

It's what they call an Industry Standard®©™. Up until 2011, Apple could do no wrong for the video world. Everyone was on Apple devices using Apple Software for editing videos called Final Cut Pro 7. Back then, editors unironically question if Adobe Premiere can be used to professionally edit stuff. You either edited on FCP7 or Avid Media Composer.

Then Apple released FCPX, which was basically a souped up iMovie and broke everything. Those who didn't move to AMC moved to Adobe Premiere Pro, and in less than a year, just about everyone has jumped ship. Around the time this drama was unfolding, Avid offered deep discounts for editors/companies who would give up their FCP7 keys.

TLDR: The Industry®©™ can dump standards when they have to, they just choose not to because in certain cases, the transition would indeed be painful, but it can be done, and that a lot of times, non-standard software from competitors can do the job and is just being snobbed.

Fucking Coreteks and his voice. I think even if this guy discovered the meaning of life, I still wouldn't watch his shit.

This sounds like projecting Linus' faults onto Steve. Steve never talked about being married or endorsing race mixing, but he did talk about how they have a Mandarin tutor come to their offices so the crew has an easier time reporting when going to Taiwan and so on.

Not to say that GN's COI criticism isn't valid because of that, before someone jumps to that conclusion because I only pointed out that one part of the post.

There's nothing wrong with wishing misfortune upon anyone who is anti-adblock.
Also, the irregularities in the SNEED.EXE Inc. pension fund are entirely someone else's fault, I assure you.
Acting like multimillionaire Linus's ridiculous "adblock is theft" comments are on the same level as "being in on the sexual harassment of an employee" or at least close enough that you think it's appropriate to offload your grudge into a weird and openly malicious cope where you accept a single woman's unproven allegations without scrutiny is totally not at all deranged.

Coreteks' voice sounds really entitled and annoying, can't really pay attention to anything he's saying, but I'm glad he's keeping the drama alive

Linus sponsors them and has them as the best in his rankings when in fact other reviewers got those coolers thermal throttling. I don't think there's any similar case for GN

These two took sponsorships from pretty much every tech company. What are they going to do, no longer review intel & amd CPUs and Nvidia and AMP GPUs because they got sponsored by them? Sponsorships that are based on promotional codes usually last for quite a long time, it's not out of the ordinary for them to keep getting extended as long as sales are coming in, and a good sponsorship can realistically last years.

Everyone has already been talking about the real issues: data inaccuracies, employee abuse and selling auctioning a prototype. I'm pretty sure people didn't ignore the sponsor stuff, they just didn't give a shit. If that's all CoreTeks was saying then no wonder everyone ignored him for years

It was half a joke, half because I don't like miscegenation. The real projection came from GN saying Coreteks lived in a glass house for calling out LMG's sponsorships with intel/nvidia, while GN regularly accepts sponsorships for products that they review.

To be fair, GN has thrown away sponsor deals before by ripping into a product, but the potential for conflict of interest remains. They should not be accepting PC component sponsorships.

Another mid take from Muta.
A boring fat pajeet and a mindless driveling nigger, how riveting. I can't understand why anyone takes that fat pajeet seriously.
I'll visit the sektur for some funny.

I can't imagine the soyjaks at this place saying "Calm your tits" to an actual woman
It's a "youtuber tech company" filled with coomers, this is exactly the sort of dumb internet lingo you'll hear from those soyjaks. I've heard a female manager saying "keep it in your pants Richard" to an assertive male employee, as if his idea/argument stems from sexual frustration. If that's not a direct sexist equivalent, I don't know what is. Obviously, the guy just grinned and walked away instead of tweeting up the Book of Revelation. The wagecuck box office is far less professional than their tailored suits and expensive ties, so expect some glorified content slavehouse to be even worse.

As far as we know, she did slice her thighs open to get sick leave she was entitled to. She posted a review months prior to her ramblings now. She's young, inexperienced (who signs a contract BEFORE negotiating wage and after MOVING INTERNATIONALLY FFS you dumb woman), inconcise, and scatterbrained.

One of Madison's tweets claims she intentionally cut her leg so bad that she would need stitches so she could get a day off. She is batshit insane. Would not trust her PoV of events at all. I'm sure LTT is not a fantastic employer but I am very sure this woman is bonkers.
She did cut her leg, there's photos of it.
>I would not trust her PoV of events because she was being truthful about self-harm
None of this makes sense to me. If a workplace drives a person to self-harm and said person starts some hysterical slew of all sorts of issues, where said issues were publicly apparent in the form of their videos, I'm inclined to trust their words.

Maybe I just find the idea of simping for a company to be vile so I almost always automatically side with the accuser.

tl;dr I believe all wamen but she's also really dumb and should have faked a covid test instead of slicing herself. Her simps should slice their own throats.

Everyone has already been talking about the real issues: data inaccuracies
Where do you think those inaccuracies can arise from? Conflicts of interest with your business partners. Either by simple laziness by not triple checking the data, or by malicious intent to enrich yourself at the cost of everyone else's trust. You cannot defend accepting sponsorships for products you review. The Gamers Nexus twitter account literally posted this, except in a retarded way, since Coreteks does not review operating systems or Microsoft products. I've been subscribed to GN for 5+ years and I own one of their mouse mats, and I can't defend it. They are striving to be the best tech reviewers in the world. They literally just spent $250 thousand to build a sound dampening chamber to more accurately test acoustics. They cannot accept sponsorships for PC cases, GPUs, thermal interfaces, fans, pumps, radiators, etc, that all make noise. The data would forever be in question. This is irrefutable.
