Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

It may just be me, but I don't find Beat that charismatic; mainly because what I have seen comes off as rich people tourism with his "I'll give you this money to do X" stuff. The competitions and shit he does are okay, but he still just throws cash around and makes shit up at times and it feels more like I'm watching a rich degenerate.
You’re not his target audience. Little kids find him extremely charismatic and cool. By contrast, Linus comes across as an uncool dad desperately trying to fit in with his kids.

Is Mr Beast's media team as poorly paid as Linus' team?
Tbh I don't think he has a reason to be cheap with his staff cuz each video he releases it's a guaranteed success. Other youtubers love to include his name and products in their videos purely from how popular and successful he is.

Used to work in a compounding Pharmacy for customized medical and hormonal treatments and we get loads of wealthy customers, and honestly to me he seems fine for how wealthy he is.
I don't think he is an an altruistic angel because he is clearly capitalizing views and his image even if he is giving away shit for free and honestly I don't mind as long as it isn't exploitative like NFT's, gambling or OF.

People that make a lot don't always pay a lot. Plus "media workers" are dime a dozen unless they have to be competent.

The computer shop episode was weird. Linus was trying too hard, he had that one fucking writer wearing a fanny pack acting like he's too ironic for you, and the shop owner, I couldn't tell if he focused much more on repair and that carried the shop, or if there's a reason he was unable to restock stuff (a bad store). The one thing that kept coming to mind was how much canadian social security or disability can you get to subsidize your life.

Felt like they are trying to piggy back on mr.beast to get back on the algorithm. These watch me spend money videos are bottom of the bottom.

born August 20 1986
I just realized, if Steve had waited a few more days this would have all dropped on Linus' birthday.
Anyways, LTX 2024 will not be happening
wan show VOD

-They don't know how to run events well because their company isn't focused on it and they cant handle the scale.
-They had crunch and stress before it and its stressful to get it all set up in time
-Cost, 2023 was profitable but the opportunity cost was too large and didn't make sense (not just money but process and quality of life for the team)
-They think that alternative community events will be better done, they plan to keep doing LAN gaming events "more than once a year, maybe every month"

Colton was given as an example, he said that if they did LTX again he "can't do this"

This is why you sub contract this shit you retarded leaf. Does Linus think the Penny Arcade guys still organize PAX? Fuck no, they sub contracted that shit to ReedPop then just sit back and collect the licensing fees.
With how he operates he hates the thought of doing that because it doesn't create content.
Like how he has his employees help him move to his new house and calls it a video:
I watched the newest video because of that screengrab. It shows everything wrong with current LTT in a 20 minute package.

In short:
-trying to move in while considerable interior work is still being done on the house
-refusing to get real movers because it cost money ($11k), even though the man throws money to burn left and right
-gets his employees to help him move, making it an awkward situation for them, especially since they are "logistics" ie shipping/inventory people probably most capable of being first on the chopping block
-pussies out of coordinating the move to focus on building theater seats, gives everything to his wife
-kids are also there with what looks like their grandparents, creating distractions and dead weight
-kids are also wearing masks half the time
-Linus gets a little defensive when Yvonne mentions seeing an employees underwear even though it's no big deal especially when people are helping you move, hiding it behind being a HR issue
-a room was mispainted, this is the painters fault and something that will be harder with stuff now in the room

guess he's getting the axe soon.
Keep your eyes peeled on the staff page (what a gift it is) as I think Linus is going to start feeling the pinch soon with the brief content hiatus fucking their algorithmic advantage, messing up sponsorship deals and all those Floatplane subs disappearing, likely forever.

They already had an editor quietly disappear last Wednesday. From my changelog
Staff removed:
'SCOTT SVEINSSON' whose title was 'Editor / Camera Operator'

Linus checks out Laserdisc with Terminator 2.

They spent a grand on a laseractive player. I'm not even sure how good of a player it really is. They could have saved money and bought one of the higher end models. Or just go all out and import a MUSE player from Japan. T2 is a great film to show off on LD since its one of the few films to be released in every varient of LD (CAV, CLV, Squeeze, MUSE, THX).

Edit: Tanner McCoolDudeMan said Batman Returns was the first Dolby surround film released on LD. There's releases going back to 83 that use Dolby Surround. https://www.lddb.com/search.php?adv...efore&release=1992&soundtrack=4&sort=date,asc

Thoughts on the move video:

One of the worst things when you're doing a 2 man move on ANYTHING is the other fucker dropping his end. Feels like your arm is being ripped out, so of course Linus does that.

11k is pretty standard for a home move, he is absolutely being a cheap bastard.

Linus is also fucking over his tradies by moving in early. Painter's love having to throw cloth over all your fucking furniture when they were told they would be working an empty house.

These ass grabbers are all chuckling like 14-year-olds when there's work to be done.

I'm honestly surprised at the lack of blood; those couch connectors look perfectly designed to deglove an unaware dipshit.

Oh good, the kids are there to get in the fucking way. One of the children dunks on their idiot father. If it had been an employee, they'd be clearing out their desk.

Dan dunks on his bitch boss with zero fear. The idiot "living kitchen" made Linus view his own retardation. In Mono.

Daughter Child is visibly afraid of the land whale making shitty joke. I would not have left that creature alone with a child, but Linus.

Laserdisc:
The cohost should not exist. At all. I want to hate crime his grody beard. In Minecraft.

Linus says "VHS Player" constantly.

I'm a little upset that Linus once again got his hands on some rare hardware, I know that laser active players are knife-fight level sought after, and he's never going to use it again.

The only saving grace in this video is that Linus didn't drop the fucking machine.

He focuses on the dumbest shit, like the grooves on the disc. No shit Linus, it's different from digital optical media.

The advertiser is straight up Ching Chong. They have white people in the ad, have them do the talking.

Never fear, with the culture of stealing at LMG it's eventually going to end up with someone who cares a bit more than he does.

Alright, give me the hats, this shit chaps my ass. LaserActives are a very specific niche device, something only super hardcore LD, Sega, or NEC collectors would go for. They are a massive PITA absolutely NOTORIOUS for capacitor problems, and quite literally every single one of the fuckers left in the world need a full refurb job. If he's just gonna use it as a LD player, it's an absolute waste of time and money as LaserActives weren't even particularly high-end for basic LD playback, as they were a game console first and foremost. Any mid-tier (and up) player from the 90s would be leagues better, and quite literally a hundred times cheaper.

Guarantee he doesn't understand nor care, either. It's rare and expensive, so he's gotta have it to flex it in a video for his braindead audience (most of which weren't even alive when the last LDs were made)

Have they never heard of an event coordinator? Does he think all those billion dollar companies do that shit in house?
He's probably never heard of Gaming Generations which handles a lot of the logistics and shit for EVO (and probably other tournaments/venues). Sure EVO exists as a company with people and such; but they don't own all the consoles and shit it takes to setup a tournament, that shit's contracted out to Gaming Generations.

Linus's house epic has been one cluster-fuck after another. $11,000 for across city is indicative of something, probably how much shit you have and if you'd want them to just get it there, or if you want them to move it and set it up. And real talk, how is it with every successive video, his house looks less and less prepared than it did in the previous video? They did that shit with Dennis and the other guy hiding out in the house and a number of other videos, and yet somehow this move-in day video seems like the house is less prepared than it was for the fuck around videos. Third, how is it you keep having problems with your contractors; are you not stopping by every day or so and checking shit out? Does the actual Contractor License holder not have your phone number to say something like "Hey Mr. Sebastian, we don't have the right paint color and they say it won't be until x-date. How set are you on this color?" By the way, those theatre seats; googling "Valencia Theatre Seat" and they're about $1,000 per place to put your ass.

Linus runs his company like a gamer runs a nation or empire - Its all top down management, direct decisions at every level by the leaders, and he expects it to just work.
Look here Deplorable Anime Person... when I play SC2, I just spam Carriers and A-Move my way across the map. Micro is for suckers and APM focused ladder climbers.
