I know and follow a lot about technology, PC building, computer parts, the topics of which this guy and his shitty videos would most likely reach but yet I haven't seen or heard much of a thing from this faggot for a few years now. Friends and communities in which I talk with haven't watched him or cared about him for awhile. Going by the extent of which the people I engage with cover, Linus has lost and failed to grab anyone who actually knows and understands what they talk about and is left with a bunch of retards who mindlessly follow this influencer. Anybody with any neurons left in their noggin' knows he is simply a tech influencer with nothing valuable to provide. Anybody with a brain would rather watch GN.

When you have millions of viewers it's easy to coast along on failure, as people are slow to drop off. On the WAN show he made it sound like the original Gamers Nexus piece hurt his views and reputation a lot, but he still has a long way to fall.

The real reason for Linus not to sue would be that justification by truth is a defense against defamation (in every country) and a proper audit of all their screwups in court would sink them.

Linus doesn't seem to know that most of his content only survives because no one's been autistic enough to scrutinize it at depth.

Speaking of, does anyone have the definitive answer as to what exactly happened in the Billet Labs situation? Linus claimed in his WAN show therapy session that Billet said the waterblock was a gift and it would work on a 4090. Others have said Billet indicated it *might* work on an FE 4090, but was unsure because he had only tested it on partner models, and I haven't heard anything about the gift status. Linus says the auction was shut down in 30 minutes by the feds, which is the only part I actually 100% believe.

Since Linus is still using this as an example of GN getting something wrong, I'm curious if Billet ever put out a statement, or if someone can piece together all the information in one place.

I normally don't like using the term "dents" to describe people... but sweet Jesus LTT fans are dents.

How does that view have anything to do with capitalism? In depth videos about technology being exasperating has nothing to do with a free market model of making money. If he used GN's store then he would probably find comparable or better quality and customer service. I can't stand dunning krugers who just shove random phrases in to their drivel to make it sound more impressive (only I'm allowed to do that). The complete and honest answer is that Linus learned around 2016 that proper technical content just isn't that big of a market compared to tech slop. Markass Brown Lee made an entire empire on that shit, and we all know that Linus always follows the money as much as possible. As a result, LTT slowly dropped the technical details as time went on, and were rewarded with more views as a result. This along with other annoying pandering like the shitty soyface thumbnails and clickbait titles.

Eventually this came to a head when Linus made the thumbnails even more annoying, and he went on his podcast and essentially told his original fans that they just aren't his audience anymore and the fortnite kids make him far more money, so they're just gonna have to live with it. This pissed people off, and slowly he lost the interest of enthusiasts as a result. The GamersNexus expose basically finished off whoever was left.

I've watched Linus since the NCIX days, and he was never a super technical channel or anything like that. They were always more on par with something you'd read in MaximumPC or something (if anyone even remembers that magazine). They were never Anandtech. Nowadays tho they are barely even CNET tier,

This the line you always see on Reddit, not only in r/LinusTechTips. “Linus is entertaining, Steve’s videos are too long and boring.” Also Steve’s voice is constantly brought up, somehow grating to have a bass voice. Clearly people want something relaxing, which is totally understandable, but I don’t know why they want that from hardeare content.
Also a secret about videos: you can watch them in more than one sittings. Also you do not have to watch every video someone puts out, but that requires some maturity too much for most content consoomers, apparently.
I imagine all these are the people that have been watching Linus for 10+ years and are not capable of moving on. A person saying ”I don’t want to learn” is the last thing I will hear from them. The most disgusting thing someone can say.

Also people where theorising a couple pages ago specifically concerning Anthony that they had to take all the porn off the walls for filming, I wouldn’t be surprised if this happened with other employees as well.

Oh and don’t forget that the 5k doesn’t even come out of LTT but from a sponsor. Each video probably makes Linus way more than 5 thousand dollars but when intel pulled out he was going to cancel the series entirely. I remember there being an incident when someone in procurement fucked up and there was a case miss match and the employee had to pay out of pocket for a case.

Techically it did hurt his views since they went on hiatus for a bit and stopped doing 7 videos a week on main channel and how many ever on the other channels nobody watched.

Arrived a bit late to the party but here's my 2 cents.

While I agree that Linus is a faggot and that he's ego and narcisism is as high as the Elon Musk one, he's not entirely wrong about Steve not giving him a right to reply(as Steve gave the right to reply to Asus, NewEgg and more) and that the honey drama surrounding Linus was exaggerated.

While I think Linus should have told the community about the reason he left Honey on Wan Show, like he did with other sponsors, where he would dedicate a segment of it for it. I'll say he's right into not joining the Class Action Lawsuit against honey, CAL just serves for 2 things, to give the lawyers(from both sides) a lot of money and to make a company look bad.

Take for example all recent CAL, the companies and lawyers would drag it on court for years, settle for a "small value" where in the end the lawyers pocket half of it and the rest goes to the people. Take for example this recent CAL about Siri listening while deactivated, you think that what Apple paid(95Mi) is a lot but when you read about it, it's around 20 USD per device for every person who joined the CAL.

Linus having to go out from Canada to US to join a CAL that will give him less than what he makes in one hour is stupid.

Now, if Steve wanted to do a good job on throwing Linus under the bus, he could do another video of LTT doing mistakes and not retracting it. Like the modretro one and the many others he do bi-weekly
